So, I wanted to put a bunch of photos on Instagram, like, more than the usual 10-picture limit in a carousel post. I figured there had to be a way to do it, you know, for those times when you have a ton of memories to share from a trip or an event.

Experimenting with Instagram’s Limits
First, I did some digging. Turns out, Instagram officially allows only up to 10 photos or videos in a single carousel post. I tried all ways, selecting more than 10 photos when creating a post, but nope, it wouldn’t let me. The app just didn’t select anything past the tenth image.
My Workaround: Creating Multiple Posts
I realized I’d have to split my photos into multiple posts. Here’s how I approached it:
- Organized My Photos: I went through my camera roll and picked out the 20 photos I wanted to share. I decided to make two separate posts.
- First Post: I created a new post on Instagram and selected the first 10 photos. I added a caption mentioning that this was “Part 1” and to check out my profile for the next part.
- Second Post: Right after posting the first one, I created another post with the remaining 10 photos. In the caption, I wrote “Part 2” and maybe made a little joke about having too many good photos.
- Timed Them Right: I made sure to post them back-to-back so they’d appear consecutively in my followers’ feeds.
The Final Touch
After posting both, I went back to the first post and added a comment, something like, “Swipe through and then head to my profile for Part 2!” Just to make it super clear for anyone scrolling through.
It wasn’t a perfect solution, but it worked! My followers could see all 20 photos, just split across two posts. It’s a bit more manual, but hey, sometimes you gotta get creative when you have lots of photos, right?
