Okay, let’s talk about this “Plays of the Month” thing. It all started because I wanted to keep track of the cool stuff I was doing, the wins, the fails, the whole shebang. So I thought, why not make it a monthly thing? Like a little digital scrapbook of my progress.

First thing I did was grab a simple notebook. Nothing fancy, just something I could jot down ideas in whenever they popped into my head. I started brainstorming what kind of “plays” I wanted to record. Was it work stuff? Personal projects? Maybe a mix of both? I decided to keep it broad, basically anything that felt like a significant move or accomplishment.
Then, I got down to actually doing things. I pushed myself to try new things at work, took on a couple of side projects just for fun, and even started learning a new skill. It was a bit hectic at times, juggling everything, but it was also pretty exciting.
After a few weeks, I started noticing patterns. Some things were working great, others…not so much. I made sure to write down both the successes and the failures, because, let’s be real, you learn way more from the screw-ups.
Putting It All Together
At the end of the month, I sat down with my notebook and started organizing everything. I used different colored pens to highlight the good stuff and the, uh, less good stuff. I also added little notes to myself, like “Don’t try that again!” or “This was a game-changer, do more of this!”
- First Play: Took on that new project at work. It was a beast, but I learned a ton.
- Second Play: Started learning how to code in Python. Still a total noob, but it’s fun.
- Third Play: Finally cleaned out my garage. Sounds boring, but it felt like a huge weight off my shoulders.
- Fourth Play: Started a new game and it was so amazing. I would try to play it again.
Finally, I typed it all up into a simple document. I didn’t bother with any fancy formatting, just a straightforward list of my “plays” for the month, along with some brief reflections. It is interesting to try the new way to record my life. This is really a cool idea and it can make my life better. I will keep doing it every month, maybe I will use it to remember all of my life!

And that’s it! That’s how I started doing my “Plays of the Month.” It’s nothing revolutionary, but it’s been a really helpful way for me to stay on track, learn from my experiences, and, you know, just keep things interesting. Maybe you should give it a try, too! It’s like a little monthly report card, but way more fun.
