Well, howdy there, folks! Let me tell ya somethin’ about these here, uh… “in season courts,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city slickers would yap about.
What are these “In Season Courts” anyways?
Now, from what I gather, it’s got somethin’ to do with basketball, you know, that game where them tall fellas run around and throw a ball into a hoop? Seems like they done went and painted the whole darn court all sorts of colors. Not just plain ol’ wood color no more.
I seen some pictures, and let me tell ya, it’s a sight! Some of ’em are all bright and flashy, like a rooster’s tail feathers. Others are… well, they look like somebody spilled a whole bucket of paint all over the place. I ain’t sure what to make of it, to be honest.
When Did All This Start?
- They say it started just last month, in November, of twenty-twenty-three.
- Seems like they’re makin’ a big to-do about it, callin’ it an “inauguration” or some such. Big words for a bunch of fellas throwin’ a ball around, if you ask me.
- This here “In-Season Tournament,” well, they started it up on December fifth of twenty-twenty-three, just a few days ago.
Why Did They Go and Do That?
Now, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? They say it’s to make the game more excitin’, to get folks watchin’. But I reckon basketball was already excitin’ enough, what with all the runnin’ and jumpin’ and whatnot.
But hey, I ain’t no expert. Maybe them young folks like all them colors. Maybe it makes it easier to see the ball or somethin’. I dunno. Seems like a whole lot of fuss over nothin’, if you ask me.
All Them Fancy Colors and Designs
They got all sorts of designs on them courts, I tell ya. Some of ’em have stripes, some have swirls, some have… well, I ain’t even sure what to call it. Abstract art, maybe? Like I said, looks like somebody spilled a bucket of paint.
And the colors! My goodness, the colors! They got red, blue, green, yellow, purple… every color you can think of, and then some. It’s like a rainbow exploded on the basketball court.
Are These “In Season Courts” Here to Stay?
Now, that’s another thing I ain’t so sure about. They say it’s just for this here “In-Season Tournament,” but who knows? Maybe they’ll like it so much, they’ll keep it that way. Maybe next year, they’ll have even more colors and designs. Maybe they’ll even have glitter! Can you imagine that? Glitter on a basketball court!
What Do Folks Think About It?
Well, I hear some folks like it, and some folks don’t. Some say it’s fun and different, others say it’s too much. Some folks say it’s hard on the eyes, all them bright colors and patterns. I guess it’s like anything else in life, you can’t please everyone.
Me? I’m still on the fence. I ain’t against it, but I ain’t exactly for it either. I reckon I’ll get used to it eventually. Or maybe I won’t. Time will tell, I suppose.
In Season Courts and the Future of Basketball
So, what does all this mean for the future of basketball? I ain’t got a clue. Maybe it’s the start of a whole new trend. Maybe pretty soon, all the sports will have fancy colored fields and courts. Can you imagine football with a rainbow field? Or baseball with a diamond that’s all sparkly and glittery?
My Two Cents
Well, that’s about all I got to say about these here “in season courts.” It’s a newfangled thing, that’s for sure. Whether it’s good or bad, I reckon we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, I’ll keep watchin’ them fellas play ball, even if the court does look like a box of crayons exploded.
One Last Thing
Now, some folks are complainin’ about these courts. Sayin’ they’re too loud, too busy, too distractin’. And you know what? Maybe they got a point. But me, I figure it’s just somethin’ new, somethin’ different. And sometimes, different ain’t so bad. So, let’s give it a chance, folks. Let’s see how it all plays out. And who knows, maybe we’ll all end up lovin’ these crazy, colorful basketball courts.
