My Little Dive into Hector Casanova Jr.’s World
Alright, so today I spent some time looking into someone named Hector Casanova Jr. The name just popped up somewhere, maybe scrolling online, I don’t really remember how, but it stuck in my head. Sounded interesting, so I thought, why not see what’s what.

First thing I did was just type the name into the search bar. You know how it is, just a quick look. A bunch of stuff came up, mostly related to art and illustration. Seemed like this guy is an artist. Okay, cool. I like checking out new artists.
Digging a Bit Deeper
So, I started clicking around, mainly looking at images. Didn’t want to get lost in reading pages and pages right away. I just wanted to get a feel for his work. And wow, the style really grabbed me. It’s got this kind of gritty, comic book vibe sometimes, but also really expressive? Hard to explain, really. You just see it.
- Lots of strong lines.
- Really dynamic poses in his characters.
- Color use felt bold, not wishy-washy.
I saw some stuff that looked like concept art, maybe for games or movies? Then other pieces that were clearly illustrations, maybe for books or comics. It’s quite diverse, but you can still sorta see his hand in it all. Found myself just scrolling through pictures for a good while, looking at the details, how characters were drawn, the backgrounds.
Trying to Get the Feel
After looking at so much of it, I got that itch. You know, the one where you wanna try it yourself. Didn’t aim to copy anything directly, that’s not my style. But I grabbed my tablet, opened up a blank canvas, and just started sketching, trying to keep his energy in mind.

How It Went
Well, let’s just say it’s harder than it looks! Getting those confident lines and dynamic feelings? Yeah, takes practice. My sketches felt kinda stiff compared to his stuff. But it was fun trying. Made me appreciate the skill involved even more. It wasn’t about making a masterpiece, just about trying to understand that approach a little better, you know? Like feeling the rhythm of it.
Spent maybe an hour just doodling, trying different poses, focusing on making the lines flow a bit more like what I’d seen. It wasn’t great, honestly, but that wasn’t the point. The point was just doing it, getting hands-on after seeing something cool.
So yeah, that was my little exploration today. Found a new artist to admire, Hector Casanova Jr., and even got a little sketching practice in, trying to capture a fraction of that vibe. Always good to discover new creative folks and get inspired, even if my own attempts are just messing around. Makes you look at things differently.
