Alright, let’s yak about this 2009 Kawasaki Ninja EX250. I ain’t no fancy mechanic or nothin’, just a plain talkin’ person, so don’t expect no big words from me.

What is this Kawasaki Ninja EX250 anyway?
Well, from what I gather, it’s a motorcycle, a “sport bike” they call it. Been around a long time, this 2009 model ain’t the first, see? They started makin’ these things way back in 1986! Can you believe that? That’s like, forever ago. This 2009 one, it’s got a little engine, a 248cc one. Don’t ask me what that means exactly, but it ain’t as big as some of them other bikes out there. This one, it’s got these things called carburetors, Keihin somethin’-or-others, two of ’em. They help the engine go, I reckon. Now, some folks say the ones they made for them fancy European countries, they got somethin’ different, fuel injection, they call it. Sounds complicated if you ask me.
Is it a good bike or what?
Well, that depends on what you’re lookin’ for, I guess. If you ain’t got a whole lotta money and you just want somethin’ to get you around, it might be alright. I heard some folks say it’s a good beginner bike, easy to handle and all. And it don’t cost a fortune, which is good for folks like us. But it ain’t new, you know? This 2009 model, that’s… well, that’s a good few years back. So, it might need some fixin’ up here and there.
- Good for beginners.
- Not too expensive.
- It might need some work cause it’s old.
How much is it worth?

Now, that’s a tricky one. Seems like there’s these places, Kelly Blue Book and J.D. Power, they can tell you how much these things are worth. But it depends, you know? How good of shape it’s in, how many miles it’s got on it, all that stuff. Some folks sell ’em cheap, others want more. I saw one fella, said he found one from ’98 for cheap, ready to ride. So, you gotta shop around, see what’s out there. Don’t go payin’ too much, that’s for sure. I also heard some folks sayin’ if you’re gonna spend money, maybe get a newer one, a Ninja 300, they said. Last longer they say.
Should you buy one?
Well, like I said, it depends. If you just want a cheap little bike to learn on, it might be just the ticket. But if you want somethin’ fancy and new, this ain’t it. And if you ain’t good with fixin’ things, maybe you better look for somethin’ newer. ‘Cause an old bike like this 2009 one? It’s gonna need some tinkerin’, sure as the sun rises in the mornin’. One fella was even askin’ if the 2009 model was worth 500 bucks more than a 2008 one. See? People are thinkin’ about these things. He said he wanted to ride it till it fell apart though, so I guess he figured it was worth somethin’.
What’s the deal with the 2009 model anyway?
This 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, it’s the 14th time they made this bike. That’s a lot of bikes! So, it ain’t like it’s somethin’ brand new and special. They kept makin’ ‘em pretty much the same for a while there. I heard they made some little changes to a newer one, the Ninja 250SL, but then they stopped makin’ that one too, around 2016 or so. And they stopped making the KLX250 too, whatever that is. So, this 2009 one, it’s kinda in the middle, not too old, not too new. If you find one in good shape for a fair price, it might be a decent deal. But don’t go expectin’ no fancy features or nothin’. It’s just a motorcycle, plain and simple.

So, there you have it, my two cents on this 2009 Kawasaki Ninja EX250. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, just tellin’ it like I see it. You want a cheap bike, this might do. You want somethin’ fancy, look elsewhere. And remember, always be careful out there on them roads!
Remember: Always wear a helmet, and don’t go ridin’ like a crazy person. Safety first, that’s what I always say.
