I’ve always been a big fan of Pokemon, and when I saw the shiny version of Mega Charizard X, I knew I had to have it. It just looks so cool with its black and blue color scheme, much more badass than the regular orange one.

So, I started my quest to get one. First, I needed a Charizard, of course. Luckily, I already had one from way back in Pokemon X. A regular one, nothing special.
Next, I needed to get the Charizardite X. This was a bit trickier. I knew that it was an item you could get in Pokemon X, and, well, I had Pokemon X. So I booted up the game and started searching. I remembered it was somewhere in the Kalos region, but not the exact spot.
I spent a good few hours exploring every nook and cranny of the game. I talked to every NPC, battled every trainer, and checked every item location I could think of. Finally, after what felt like forever, I stumbled upon it! It was hidden in the Flare Secret HQ. I was so happy to finally find it!
Now that I had the Charizardite X, I equipped it to my Charizard. Then, in the next battle, I chose Mega Evolve. And there it was! My very own Mega Charizard X. But, it wasn’t shiny.
Oh boy. Then came the real grind. I knew shiny Pokemon were rare, but I was determined. I started by breeding my Charizard with a Ditto, hoping to get a shiny Charmander. I filled up boxes and boxes of Charmanders, hatching eggs like crazy. No luck.

I tried different methods, like the Masuda Method, where you breed Pokemon from different language games. I got a Japanese Ditto and started breeding again. More boxes of Charmanders, still no shiny.
Then I remembered the Shiny Charm. It’s an item that increases your chances of finding shiny Pokemon. I didn’t have it yet. So, I shifted my focus to completing the Pokedex, which is needed to get the Shiny Charm. This took a while, trading with friends, evolving Pokemon, the whole nine yards.
Finally, I got the Shiny Charm. Now, with the increased odds, I went back to breeding. More eggs, more Charmanders. And then, it happened! A black Charmander hatched from the egg! I was ecstatic!
I raised this little guy, trained it, and evolved it into a Charmeleon and finally a Charizard. Then, I gave it the Charizardite X and went into battle. I clicked on Mega Evolve, and bam! There it was in all its glory – a shiny Mega Charizard X! It was a long journey, but totally worth it.
