Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at golf, and I came across this guy, Jacob Immelman. I mean, I watched some of his videos and thought, “I gotta give this a shot.”
First off, I started by watching some videos, especially those featuring Trevor Immelman talking about his brother Jacob. I mean, this guy seems to know what he’s doing, so I figured it’s a good place to start. I noticed one thing he mentioned was rotating your wrists through impact. Sounds simple enough, right?
So, I grabbed my clubs and headed to the driving range. I started with my usual clubs, but then I remembered another tip I saw online – using lighter clubs to increase swing speed. I switched to a lighter driver and some lighter irons. The difference was noticeable. It felt easier to swing faster.
- Started with regular clubs.
- Switched to lighter clubs.
- Focused on rotating wrists through impact.
The next thing I focused on was the wrist rotation. I tried to mimic what I saw in the videos. It felt a bit weird at first, but after a few swings, it started to feel more natural. I imagined myself like Bryson DeChambeau, just cranking it with that wrist rotation. I definitely felt like I was hitting the ball further.
I kept practicing, focusing on swinging smoothly and rotating my wrists. I hit a bunch of balls, some good, some bad. But that’s how it goes, right? It’s all about practice. It’s definitely a work in progress, but I think I’m onto something here.
Keeping it going
I’m gonna keep at it. More practice, more videos. Maybe I’ll even get a lesson or two. But for now, I’m just gonna keep swinging and trying to get that Jacob Immelman-style rotation down. Who knows, maybe I’ll be hitting bombs like Bryson in no time. We’ll see. It was really a fun day. I think I should keep writing those things down.
