This here’s about Jason Von Flue, that MMA fighter fella. Heard of him? Well, I’m gonna tell ya somethin’ about him. Born in, uh, 1975, I reckon. August 1st, that’s the day. Big fella, too. Six foot tall, that’s what they say. And 170 pounds. Good size for a fighter, I guess.

He started this MMA fightin’ thing way back in 1999. June, it was. Long time ago! He’s been at it a while, this Jason. Lots of fights, too. They say 27 of ’em. That’s a heap of fightin’, if ya ask me. My old man used to get into scraps down at the tavern, but nothin’ like this. This Jason, he’s a professional.
He was on that TV show, too. The Ultimate Fighter, they called it. Season two. Must have been somethin’, bein’ on TV like that. Everyone watchin’ ya. He’s from Fresno, California. Never been there myself. Heard it’s a big place. Lots of people, I bet. Not like our little town.
They call him a welter… somethin’. Welterweight? Yeah, that’s it. Don’t rightly know what that means, but it’s somethin’ to do with how much he weighs, I suppose. Gotta be a certain weight to fight certain fellas. Makes sense, I reckon. Wouldn’t want a little fella fightin’ a giant, would ya?

- He’s a welterweight, whatever that is
This Jason, he’s got a whole bunch of that strikin’ stuff they talk about. Punchin’ and kickin’ and all that. Must be tough to take all them hits. I seen him on the TV once, hittin’ a fella right in the face. Knocked him right out! Goodness me, that was somethin’.
You can find out more about him on that ESPN thing. They got all sorts of numbers and such about him there. How many times he’s won, how many times he’s lost. All that stuff. I don’t understand all them numbers, but I guess it’s important to some folks.

He’s got a newsletter, too. Somethin’ you sign up for. They send ya stuff to your email, I reckon. Keep ya updated on what he’s up to. I don’t have one of them emails. Don’t need it. Got enough goin’ on here without worryin’ about what some fighter fella is doin’.
This Jason Von Flue, he’s a big name in that MMA world, I guess. They call him a pioneer, or somethin’ like that. Means he was one of the first ones doin’ it, I suppose. Like them folks who went out west in the covered wagons. He was one of the first ones punchin’ people in the face for a livin’. Funny world, ain’t it?
He fought in UFC and Bellator. Them’s big deals, i heard. Like the super bowl of punching folks. Jason, he’s been around. Seen a lot. Done a lot.
I seen some pictures of him. Got a mean look on his face in some of ’em. Like he’s ready to fight. Wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley, that’s for sure. But I guess that’s what makes him good at what he does. Gotta be tough to be a fighter.
He’s got some videos, too. You can watch him fightin’. It is somethin’. A lot of jumpin’. A lot of hittin’. Those boys are tough. Not like these young’uns today. Always on their phones.

He got stats. Lots of them. How tall he is. How much he weighs. When he was born. All that. They keep track of everything these days. He’s got height. Got weight. Got a birthday. Just like everybody else. But he’s a fighter. That’s somethin’ different.
You know what’s funny, though? All these MMA fighters, they all got somethin’ in common. They all got hurt. It’s part of the job. Get hit. Get hurt. Jason, he’s no different. He’s been hurt. But he keeps comin’ back. That’s what makes a fighter, I guess. They don’t give up. They keep fightin’.
This here Jason, he’s a real fighter. Not like some of them fellas you see on the street, tryin’ to act tough. He’s the real deal. Been doin’ it for a long time. And he’s good at it. That’s all that matters, I reckon. Bein’ good at what ya do. No matter what it is.
So, that’s about all I know about Jason Von Flue. He’s a fighter. A good one, they say. From California. Been on TV. Got a bunch of numbers about him on that internet thing. And he’s tough. That’s about it. Hope ya learned somethin’. I know I did. Just from hearin’ about him.
