Okay, so, I got sucked into this whole “Join the dark side, we have cookies” thing. You see these memes everywhere, right? It all started with stumbling upon some random image, maybe it was from ‘RWBY’, I don’t know. It had this funny line, something like, “You were the chosen one! Silver-eyed huntress would destroy the Grim.” Got me chuckling, you know?

Then I saw this multistream thing from Twitch. Now, I’m not a big Twitch guy, but it had this “Join the Dark Side” tag and, I swear, every other thing I saw online started to have this tag too! “We Have Cookies, Join The Dark Side”, like it was following me!
So, curiosity got the better of me. I started digging around. Found this article, or maybe it was a blog post, by some guy named Scott D. Wilson. He used the phrase too, but it felt a bit more, I don’t know, serious? Made me think there might be more to this than just a silly meme.
Deeper into the Rabbit Hole
Then things got weirder. I came across some Reddit post, tagged as spoilers, and it mentioned “Season 3” and “The Book of Boba Fett.” I haven’t seen those, so I kinda skimmed it. But it felt like I was entering some kind of inside joke territory.
After that, it was a barrage. A whole subreddit dedicated to Kirby, of all things! And then just a flood of memes. Funny pictures, reaction images, you name it. It was like the internet was shouting, “Join the dark side, we have cookies!” at me from every corner.
Giving in to the Cookies
So, yeah, I gave in. I joined the “dark side,” or whatever that means. Started using the phrase myself, sharing those memes. It’s just so catchy, and it feels like you’re part of this massive, goofy, online community. I don’t really do anything with it, not yet, anyway, but I thought it would be interesting to share how the cookies brought me to the dark side.

- Saw a funny ‘RWBY’ image.
- Found a Twitch multistream with the “Join the Dark Side” tag.
- Read something from Scott D. Wilson.
- Stumbled upon a Reddit post with spoilers.
- Got bombarded with memes and a Kirby subreddit.
- Finally gave in and embraced the cookies.
It’s just funny how these things spread, right? One minute you’re minding your own business, the next you’re part of the “dark side” because of some cookies. The internet is a strange and wonderful place.
