Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Jon Horford. Sounds like a good ol’ boy, even if I ain’t never met him. Folks say he plays basketball, or used to anyways.

Early Days and Hoopin’ Dreams
Seems like this Jon boy, he started out in some place called Lansing, Michigan. Moved there with his family way back in 2000. Went to Grand Ledge High School, they say. A real star on the basketball team, he was. Folks talkin’ ’bout how he broke all sorts of records, scorin’ more points than anyone else. Guess he was a real whiz with that ball.
- Moved to Lansing, Michigan in 2000.
- Went to Grand Ledge High School.
- Broke a bunch of school basketball records.
Big Decisions and College Ball
Now, when it come time for college, this Jon had some choices to make. Michigan, California, Providence… all wantin’ him to play for their team. He picked Michigan, though. Signed his name on that paper in 2010, right at the start of spring. Folks were excited, I tell ya.
He played there for a spell, they say. Four years with them Michigan Wolverines. Had some good times, some bad times too. This knee injury slowed him down, poor fella. But he kept at it, you know? He even helped his team beat some real tough opponents, top-10 teams they were. Beat ’em three times in a row, somethin’ nobody ever done before at that school. That Wisconsin team, Iowa too, and I can’t recall the last one, but it was tough.
Family Ties and Hoops History
This Jon, he ain’t the only one in his family good at basketball. Got a brother, Al, they say. Al played too, won all sorts of championships with them Florida Gators. But Jon, he wanted to make his own way. Born in Lansing, played for Michigan, then even went to Florida like his brother for a bit.
More Than Just a Game
Now, I hear tell that this Jon, he ain’t just about basketball. Folks say he don’t like all the fuss and attention that comes with bein’ a star player. Keeps to himself, mostly. And get this, he ain’t even playin’ basketball no more. Moved on to somethin’ called politics. Imagine that! Guess he figured there was more important things in life than shootin’ hoops.
From the Court to…Politics?

Yeah, you heard right. This Jon Horford, the basketball player, he’s done with all that now. Seems he’s got a hankerin’ for somethin’ different, somethin’ in the world of… well, politics, they call it. Now, I don’t know much about that stuff, seems like a whole lot of talkin’ and arguin’ to me. But if Jon’s got a mind to do it, then more power to him, I say.
A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That
You know, this Jon, he’s like one of them fellas who’s tried a bit of everything. High school star, college player, even a bit of pro ball, I reckon. Then he ups and changes his whole life, goes into somethin’ completely different. It’s like he’s always lookin’ for somethin’ new, somethin’ more, maybe.
What to Make of it All?
So, there you have it. The story of Jon Horford, as best as I can tell it. A basketball player, a family man, and now, a fella in the world of politics. Seems like he’s had a good run, done a lot of things. And who knows what he’ll do next? Maybe he’ll surprise us all again. One thing’s for sure, this Jon Horford, he’s a fella who keeps on movin’ and shakin’.

And that’s all I have to say about that.
Some Games and Scores
Now, they had Jon playin’ in all sorts of games, college games they were. I heard tell of some scores, close ones too. Like that game with UNLV and Duke, 77 to 79. Then Kentucky and Duke again, 103 to 104! Can you believe it? Notre Dame beat UConn 91 to 89. And Texas A&M, they had 63, but I don’t know who they was playin’ against, must not have been important.
His Daddy Played Too!
Oh, and I almost forgot! This Jon fella, he comes from a basketball family, alright. His daddy, Tito Horford, he played too! Went to the University of Miami, graduated way back in 1989. Played all over the world, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico, even here in the USA. Guess basketball runs in their blood, just like how we all like corn on the cob around here.
