Okay, so I wanted to make a calendar for 2019. Sounds simple, right? Well, it was a bit of a journey, let me tell you.

First, I gathered all the dates. I mean, you can’t have a calendar without dates. I grabbed a regular calendar and started copying down all the days, making sure I got the right days of the week matched up with the dates. You know, like January 1st, 2019 was a Tuesday, and so on. This part was pretty boring, but it had to be done.
Finding a Design
Next, I needed to figure out the look. I searched around for some inspiration. I wanted something clean and simple, but not totally plain. I looked at a bunch of different designs and decided to combine a few of them.
- I chose a basic grid layout.
- I picked a simple, easy-to-read font.
- I added some subtle colors for the months, just to make it a bit more lively.
Then came the actual making part. I used an online calendar maker. It has a free version, and I just signed up to have a try. It was pretty user-friendly, thankfully. I plugged in all the dates I had collected, selected the design elements I had decided on, and started customizing.
Adding Personal Touches
I wanted to make it a bit more personal, so I added some important dates, like birthdays and anniversaries. I also marked down some holidays and special events that I wanted to remember. This took a little while, but it was worth it to make the calendar truly mine.
Once I was happy with everything, I downloaded the calendar as a PDF. Then, I printed it out. And guess what? It didn’t look great! The colors didn’t look good at all and there are some issues. So I went back to the website, adjusted some settings, such as color contrast and calendar size, and printed it again.

Finally, I got a calendar that I was happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it was functional and it had all the important dates I needed. It was a good feeling to have created something from scratch. Plus, it was a fun little project to keep me busy for a while. All in all, it was a good experience. I learned a lot about calendar design, and I ended up with a pretty cool personalized calendar for 2019.
