I’ve been playing Dota 2 for a while now, and I recently started experimenting with this new item called Khanda. It’s become kind of a hot topic in the community, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

At first, I was a bit confused about how to use it effectively. I mean, it’s a bit of a weird item, right? It’s got this crit component, but it also works with spells. So, I started by just trying it out on different heroes. I figured, you know, I’d just throw it into my builds and see what happens. Some of my early experiments were a bit of a mess, to be honest. But that’s how you learn, right?
I spent a few evenings just grinding games, trying different heroes and builds. One hero that really stood out to me was Luna. It just clicked, you know? With her Lucent Beam and the way Khanda works, it felt like a match made in heaven. I started focusing on building it after getting my core items like BKB. The extra damage on her spells, plus the crit on her right-clicks, was just insane. Suddenly, I was melting heroes left and right.
Here’s what I found worked best with Luna:
- Get your core items first. Don’t rush Khanda. I usually went for things like Manta Style and BKB before even thinking about it.
- Use your Lucent Beam to proc the Khanda effect. It’s like a mini nuke, especially with the extra damage from Khanda.
- Don’t be afraid to right-click. The crit chance on Khanda is no joke. It makes Luna’s already strong physical attacks even more deadly.
- Take advantage of Luna’s level 20 talent. It gives you two free Moon Glaive attacks when you use Lucent Beam, which is even more chances to crit with Khanda.
After getting comfortable with Luna, I started trying Khanda on other heroes. I had some fun games with Sniper, too. It’s definitely a viable item on him, especially if you’re up against heroes that are hard to deal with normally. Just make sure you itemize properly – get things like Parasma to maximize your damage output.
But it’s not just about the heroes, it’s also about the overall game strategy. I noticed that when I had a good team that could create space and enable me to farm, Khanda felt even more impactful. It’s not just an item you can slap on and expect to win. You gotta think about how it fits into your team’s strategy and the overall flow of the game.

One thing I learned the hard way is that you gotta adapt. Sometimes the enemy team would counter me hard, and I’d have to adjust my build. Maybe I’d go for more defensive items or focus on split pushing instead of team fighting. Dota’s all about adapting, and that’s definitely true when you’re playing with Khanda.
I also found some online guides, like the one by Torte de Lini, that suggested Khanda for Luna. It was reassuring to see that other players were having success with it, too. But at the end of the day, it’s all about finding what works for you and your playstyle.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with Khanda in Dota 2 so far. It’s been a fun and challenging item to experiment with. I’m still learning new things about it every day. If you’re thinking about trying it out, I say go for it! Just be prepared to experiment and, most importantly, have fun. Remember, it’s a game, after all. Sometimes you will be placed in the Low Priority queue due to bad game behavior, and the solution is very simple, just win the game to get rid of it.
