So, you wanna hear ’bout this here Links at Ivy Ridge golf place, huh? Well, sit a spell, and I’ll tell ya what I know. It’s over in Akron, New York, somewheres. A place called, uh, 12221 Main Rd, or somethin’ like that. I ain’t too good with them fancy numbers, ya know.
They call it a “links style” course. Now, I don’t know what that fancy talk means, but I reckon it’s just a big, open field with a bunch of holes in it. They say it opened up back in 2005, so it ain’t all that old, but folks seem to like it. I heard it’s one of them best courses ’round Western New York. They say it’s enormous. I don’t know what that word mean, but it sounds big.
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it, sayin’ it’s a “premier” golf course. I don’t know what that means either, but I guess it’s a good thing. Probably means it’s got nice grass and all them little flags they stick in the ground. Heard one fella say it was his favorite public course in all of Western New York. Must be somethin’ special, then.
They got 18 holes at this Ivy Ridge course. That’s a whole lotta walkin’ if ya ask me. But, I guess that’s what them golf folks like to do. Walk around, whackin’ at a little ball with a stick. Seems like a lot of work for nothin’, but who am I to judge? Some folks like fishin’ or huntin’ and I ain’t into that either.

Now, I ain’t never been to this Links at Ivy Ridge golf myself. I ain’t much for that golfin’ stuff. I’d rather be sittin’ on my porch, watchin’ the world go by. But, I hear tell it’s a nice place. If you’re into that sort of thing, I reckon it’s worth checkin’ out.
One fella, he went there on a Sunday, said it was his first time. Said sometimes ya don’t feel welcome at a new place, but I reckon he felt alright there. That’s good, I suppose. Nobody likes to feel outta place. Least not me. It’s a public course you can go to, so it ain’t like them fancy country clubs or nothin’.
Heard some other folks sayin’ it’s a “super lay out” and “very playable.” I don’t know what them words mean, but I reckon it means it’s a good place to play that golf game. If you’re into that sorta thing, that is. I ain’t, but maybe you are.
Now, there was a group of fellas, musta been a whole bunch of ’em, went up to Buffalo for a weekend just to play at this here Links at Ivy Ridge golf. Must be somethin’ real special to go all the way up there just for that. Buffalo’s a ways away, ya know. At least from where I am. I ain’t no good with distances.
This place, it’s probably got all them things them golfers like. A place to get them little carts, I reckon. And maybe a place to get a cold drink after you’re done whackin’ that ball around. I don’t know for sure, though. Like I said, I ain’t never been there myself. Just hearin’ what other folks say about it.
I reckon if you’re lookin’ for a place to play golf in Western New York, this Links at Ivy Ridge golf might be a good place to go. They say it’s one of the best around. And if all them folks are goin’ there, it must be somethin’ worth seein’. I guess. Maybe. If that’s your thing.
