Alright, so today I’m gonna share my experience with a BMW 2004. Buckle up, it’s gonna be a ride!

The Backstory
I stumbled upon this 2004 BMW a while back. It was sitting in a friend’s garage, collecting dust. He was like, “Dude, wanna take a look? I’m thinking of getting rid of it.” I’m a sucker for old cars, especially bimmers, so I said, “Hell yeah!”
First Impressions
It wasn’t pretty, to be honest. The paint was faded, the interior was kinda musty, and it clearly hadn’t been driven in ages. But underneath all that grime, I saw potential. It had that classic BMW silhouette, and I could tell it was a solid machine.
Getting My Hands Dirty

So, I convinced my friend to let me have it for a steal. First things first, I gave it a thorough cleaning. I mean, hours of scrubbing, vacuuming, and detailing. It started to look a little better, but there was still a lot of work to be done.
Then came the mechanical stuff. The engine was rough, and it wouldn’t idle properly. I started by changing the oil, replacing the spark plugs, and cleaning the air filter. That helped a bit, but it still wasn’t running smoothly.
The Real Issues
I dug a little deeper and discovered that the fuel injectors were clogged. I pulled them out, cleaned them with some injector cleaner, and tested them. Two of them were completely shot, so I ordered new ones online.
While I was waiting for the injectors to arrive, I tackled the suspension. The shocks were completely blown, and the car was bouncing all over the place. I replaced them with some aftermarket performance shocks, and the difference was night and day.

Interior TLC
The interior needed some love too. The seats were torn, and the dashboard was cracked. I found a local upholstery shop that did a great job of reupholstering the seats. They look brand new now!
For the dashboard, I used a dashboard cover to hide the cracks. It’s not a perfect solution, but it looks a lot better than it did before.
The Finishing Touches
Once I got the engine running smoothly and the suspension sorted out, I focused on the cosmetics. I got the car repainted in its original color, and it looks amazing. I also replaced the wheels with some aftermarket alloys, which really gave it a sporty look.

The Result
After months of hard work, the BMW 2004 is finally back on the road. It’s not perfect, but it’s a blast to drive. It handles great, and it’s surprisingly quick. I’m really proud of what I’ve accomplished.
