Well, let me tell you somethin’ about that ace white sox, Dylan Cease. That boy can throw a ball, I tell ya what! He’s gonna be pitchin’ on that first day, Opening Day, they call it. They already said so. Heard it straight from the horse’s mouth, or somethin’ like that.

And you know, these teams, they’re always swappin’ players around like we used to swap eggs for flour back in the day. This one team, the Mets, they got a whole bunch of young’uns comin’ up, ready to play. And the White Sox, they want some of them young fellas that can hit good. Heard they want this Jett Williams kid.
That Dylan Cease Boy, He’s Somethin’
This fella, Buster Olney, and another one, Jeff Passan, they know all about this baseball stuff. They’re like the gossips of baseball, always knowin’ what’s goin’ on. They say the Mariners are wantin’ to get Dylan Cease from the White Sox, too. It’s all a big mess, I tell ya.
There’s another young fella, Roman Anthony, they say he’s real good too. But this other team, Boston, they want to make room for him, so they gotta get rid of this other guy, Abreu. It’s like musical chairs, but with baseball players. You gotta keep up, or you’ll miss somethin’!
Young’uns Comin’ Up
Now, the White Sox, they got their own young’uns. This one boy, Noah Schultz, he’s a pitcher, throws with his left hand. And another one, Colson Montgomery, he plays shortstop. They’re supposed to be real good, the best the White Sox got.
- That Noah Schultz, he can pitch.
- Colson Montgomery, he plays that shortstop.
- They are the best of the White Sox.
They got other pitchers too, Cannon, Martin, Thorpe, and this Sean Burke. But without that Crochet fella, they gotta use these other boys. It’s a lot to keep track of, I swear.

This Dylan Cease, though, he’s the one everyone’s talkin’ about. He can strike a fella out, just like that! And he don’t let ’em walk much either. He’s somethin’ else, that one. They say his strikeout and walk rate is absurd. I don’t even know what that means, but it sure sounds good, don’t it?
More Baseball Talk
These baseball folks, they got all sorts of words for things. Like that “ace” word. I guess that means he’s the best pitcher they got. And “white sox,” well, that’s the team he plays for, of course. It’s like when we used to have the county fair, and everyone wore their best clothes.
They talk about “prospects” too. That’s like when we’d look at a young calf and know it was gonna be a good milker someday. These young players, they’re the prospects, and the teams are hopin’ they turn out to be real good.
And this “trade” thing, well, that’s just like when we used to trade chickens for a sack of potatoes. One team wants somethin’ the other team’s got, so they make a deal. It’s all about gettin’ what you need, I reckon.
This Cease Fella
This ace white sox pitcher, this Dylan Cease. That boy, he’s gonna be startin’ that first game. It’s a big deal, you know. Everyone will be watchin’. It’s like when we used to have the pie contest at the church social. Everyone wanted to see who made the best pie.

And all these other teams wantin’ him, well, it’s like when we had that prize-winning rooster. Everyone wanted to buy him, but we weren’t sellin’. This Cease boy, he’s like that rooster, I guess. Everyone wants him on their team.
Keepin’ Up with it All
It’s hard to keep up with all this baseball stuff sometimes. But it’s fun to listen to, kinda like listenin’ to the old folks tell stories around the fire. You might not understand everything, but you get the gist of it.
So, this ace white sox, Dylan Cease, he’s the one to watch. He’s gonna be somethin’ special, I can feel it in my bones. Just like I knew that old Bessie was gonna be a good cow, I know this Cease boy is gonna be a good pitcher. You just wait and see.
That’s all I gotta say about that. It’s enough to make your head spin, all this baseball talk. But it’s interestin’, that’s for sure. Just like watchin’ the seasons change, you never know what’s gonna happen next.
Now if you excuse me, I am gonna get a drink. All this talk about ace white sox and baseball has made me thirsty.
