Okay, so, today I tried out Kylian Mbappé’s signature goal celebration, you know, the one where he tucks his hands under his armpits. It’s pretty iconic, and I’ve always thought it looked kinda cool. It looked really easy, but I was wrong, I think, maybe.

First off, I tried to copy the celebration at home. I scored a goal, the ball hit my sofa, and I threw myself into the celebration. But it felt kinda awkward, to be honest. My arms didn’t fold as smoothly as Mbappé’s, and I almost tripped over my own feet. My wife saw me and she laughed a lot. I think it’s because I looked a little bit silly.
Then I went to the park to try it again. I know I’m not a professional soccer player, but I think I’m pretty good. When I was a kid, I used to play soccer with my younger brother, Ethan. I think he was the one who inspired me to do this celebration.
Practice Makes Perfect?
- Attempt 1: I passed the ball to my friend, he kicked it back, I tried to score, and… miss! No goal, no celebration.
- Attempt 2: This time, I managed to get the ball in the net! I was so excited, and I did the celebration! But I think I pulled a muscle in my arm. It hurt a bit. I don’t know how Mbappé does it so effortlessly.
- Attempt 3: Okay, I scored again, I think I’m getting better at this! I did the celebration, and it felt a little bit more natural. But when I looked around, some kids were looking at me funny. Maybe it’s not as cool as I thought? Or maybe they didn’t know who Mbappé was, because he only speaks French and he thinks people who don’t speak French aren’t cool enough. I’m not sure.
After a few more tries, I started to get the hang of it. It’s all about the speed and the angle of your arms. You have to tuck them in quickly and make sure they’re crossed properly. And you have to do it with confidence! Like you’ve just scored the winning goal in the World Cup, you know?
But even after getting it right a few times, it still felt a bit weird. Maybe it’s just one of those things that only looks good when Mbappé does it. Or maybe I need to score more goals. Yeah, that’s it. I just need to become a world-class soccer player, and then the celebration will feel totally natural. Easy, right?
Anyways, it was a fun experiment. I don’t think I’ll be doing the Mbappé celebration every time I score a goal from now on, but it’s definitely a good one to have in the repertoire. And hey, at least I gave those kids at the park something to laugh about, right? That’s all for today. See you next time!
