Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Mexico Sub-23 team, or whatever they call it. You know, them young fellas kicking the ball around.

Mexico Sub-23: What’s the Big Fuss?
I hear all this talk about “Mexico Sub-23” on the TV. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a bunch of young boys playin’ soccer, right? Like my grandson, always runnin’ around with that ball. These boys, though, they’re playin’ for Mexico, the whole country’s watchin’ ’em.
Following the Mexico U23 Team: It Ain’t Easy!
Tryna keep up with them is like tryin’ to catch a chicken in the yard! They’re always movin’, playin’ games here, playin’ games there. They call ’em “friendlies,” but I don’t see nothin’ too friendly about it. They’re always runnin’ and kickin’ and tryin’ to win. Someone told me you can find all the scores and news and whatnot on somethin’ called “BeSoccer” and “ESPN.” Sounds complicated to me. I just ask my neighbor, he knows all about this stuff.
- Players and Transfers: Who’s In, Who’s Out?
They got these lists, see? Lists of all the players. And they talk about “transfers,” which I guess means some boys go play for a different team. It’s like when my cousin moved to the next town over, I guess. They say you can find all this on somethin’ called “*.” I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that. They got numbers too, “market values” they call it. Like how much a cow’s worth, I reckon.

Fixtures and Results: Did They Win or Lose?
Then there’s the games themselves. “Fixtures,” they call ’em. Fancy words for game schedules. And the “results,” well, that’s just whether they won or lost. Simple as that. You can find when they’re playin’ and who they’re playin’ against. They even play against teams from other countries, like that Spain game they had over in Europe somewhere. Madrid, I think it was. Someone told me my nephew saw it on TV. He’s always glued to that screen.
The Team, the Country: It’s All Mexico
Now, this Mexico team, they’re playin’ for Mexico, right? That’s what they told me. Mexico, that’s a big country down south. They call it the “United Mexican States,” all official-like. Been around since 1821, I heard. Got all sorts of states, like our states here, but they speak Spanish down there. And they love their soccer, that’s for sure.
More Than Just a Game

So, this Mexico Sub-23 team, it’s more than just a bunch of boys kickin’ a ball. It’s about the whole country, about pride, about… well, I don’t know what else it’s about. But folks get real worked up about it. Yellin’ at the TV, cheerin’ when they score. It’s like a big fiesta every time they play.
Staying Updated: If You Want To
If you wanna know what’s goin’ on with them, you gotta look it up. Like I said, there’s all them websites and TV channels. They got all the “squad details,” whatever that means, and the “latest news.” I just wait for my neighbor to tell me. He reads all that stuff.
The Coach and the Future
They even got a new coach now, someone to tell them what to do. I guess that’s important, someone has to keep an eye on all those energetic young men. They’re tryin’ to make these boys better, I reckon. Trainin’ ’em up to be the next big stars. It’s all about the future, they say. The future of Mexican soccer, I guess.

Just Kick the Ball, Boys!
But in the end, it’s just a game, ain’t it? Just boys kickin’ a ball. Though, sometimes I do like to watch them when nothing else is on. I sure do hope they win though, whoever they’re playing. It makes everyone happy when they win. And that’s all there is to it. Just kick the ball, boys, and make your country proud.
Compact Squad and Statistics: Numbers, Numbers Everywhere!
And oh, they got these “compact squad overviews” and “statistics”. Sounds like somethin’ from a doctor’s office, doesn’t it? Just a bunch of numbers about how much each player ran and how many times they kicked the ball. My grandson kicks the ball a lot in my backyard; nobody’s counting his kicks. These folks count every little thing, it seems. They got “overall statistics,” too, for the whole season. Like how many games they won and lost. I don’t pay too much mind to that. Just tell me if they won or lost; I don’t need all them fancy numbers.
