Alright, let’s talk about this NASCAR 81, whatever that means. I ain’t no expert, ya know, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. But I heard folks talkin’ about cars and racin’, so I figured I’d share what I picked up.

The Big Man, Richard Petty
So, there’s this fella, Richard Petty. They call him “The King.” Sounds fancy, huh? Well, I guess he deserves it. This fella, he won a whole heap of races. They say 200! Can you believe that? Two hundred times he crossed that finish line first. That’s more than anyone else, ever. They also say he got the most poles, like 123 of ‘em. Poles, that’s where you start at the front, right? Makes sense, the King should be at the front. And championships? He got seven of them too, tied with some other fellas, I reckon.
- Most wins: 200
- Most poles: 123
- Championships: 7
He even won 27 races in one season! That’s like winnin’ every other week, or somethin’. And Daytona? He won that big race seven times too. And they say he won ten races in a row once! Imagine that, winning and winning and winning, never stoppin’. This Petty fella, he raced from way back in 1958 all the way to 1992. That’s a long time to be racin’ cars. He started more races than anyone too, somethin’ like 1,185 times. That’s a whole lotta racin’, I tell ya.
Chevy and All Them Wins
Now, let’s talk about them cars. There’s this brand, Chevrolet, Chevy for short. They been around forever, seems like. And guess what? They won over 800 races! Eight hundred! That’s a lot of metal and noise goin’ around in circles real fast. And it ain’t just one type of Chevy car, they got seven different kinds that won races. They been racin’ since 1949, when they called it somethin’ fancy like “Strictly Stock Division”. Now they just call it the big race, I guess.
Racin’ Through the Years
This racin’ thing, it’s been goin’ on for a long time. They started way back, you know. Like in 1951, they had this race in Michigan, the Motor City 250. And just last year, in 2022, some fella named Ross Chastain did somethin’ crazy they called the “Hail Melon” at Martinsville. I ain’t got a clue what that is, but it sounds wild. So, from the old days to now, they been racin’ cars, fast and loud.
Tracks and Speed
They race these cars on all sorts of tracks. Some are short and the turns are steep, like they’re fightin’ gravity. Others are long and straight, and them cars go so fast you can barely see ’em. They call ’em super speedways. I bet that’s excitin’, all that speed and noise. But me? I’d probably get dizzy just watchin’.
Moments to Remember

And there have been some moments, let me tell ya. Close finishes, where you don’t know who won ‘til the very last second. And fights! Yep, them drivers, sometimes they get so mad they start fightin’ right there on TV. Can you imagine? Grown men, punchin’ each other. And sadness too. There was this fella, Dale Earnhardt, a real good racer, but he died racin’. That was a sad day, real sad.
So, What About NASCAR 81?
So, you see, this NASCAR thing, it’s a big deal. It’s about fast cars, tough drivers, and lots of history. Now, I still ain’t sure what “NASCAR 81” means exactly. Maybe it’s a race, maybe a driver, maybe somethin’ else entirely. But I reckon it’s part of all this racin’ history, part of the wins and the losses, the cheers and the tears. It’s all part of the story, from Richard Petty, “The King”, to Chevy’s 800 wins, and all the way to today. And that story, well, it keeps on racin’.
More than just going fast
It ain’t just about speed though, is it? It’s about them folks who build them cars, the mechanics who keep them runnin’, and the families who cheer ‘em on. It’s a whole community, a whole way of life for some folks. I might not understand all the details, but I can appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes. And I can surely appreciate a good story, and this NASCAR thing, it’s full of ‘em.

So, if you’re ever wonderin’ about racin’, remember what I told ya. It’s about more than just goin’ fast in circles. It’s about history, and heroes, and a whole lot of heart. And maybe, just maybe, “NASCAR 81” is another chapter in that long and excitin’ story.
