Alright, let’s talk about this NASCAR qualifyin’ in Charlotte, you know, the racin’ and such. Don’t know much about fancy words, but I can tell ya what I saw and heard, plain and simple.

So, they had this qualifyin’ thing, see? That’s how they figure out who starts where in the big race. It’s important, I guess, ’cause them fellas want to be up front, not stuck in the back with all the slowpokes. Qualifyin’ at Charlotte, that’s what they call it, and it’s a big deal for these drivers.
I heard tell that some fella named Larson, yeah, that Larson fella, he was real fast. Drove that number 5 Chevy like a bat outta hell. Led a whole bunch of laps, they said, 62 of ’em! Beat that other fella, Bell, by a good bit. Said it was a runaway, like a chicken chasin’ a bug. Larson, he’s with that Hendrick fella’s team, you know, the big shots. They got good cars, them Hendrick fellas do.
- Larson won
- Beat Bell
- Drove a Chevy
Then there’s this talk about the playoffs. Playoffs, that’s like the end of the season, where they figure out who’s the best of the best. Larson, Byron, Elliott, they all made it to the Round of 8. That’s pretty good, I reckon. Means they’re still in the runnin’ for the big prize. This NASCAR playoff standings is somethin’ serious for them boys.
And get this, some new guy, Van Gisbergen, I think they called him, he got the pole position. That means he starts first. First time ever for him, they said. Imagine that, a newbie showin’ them ol’ timers how it’s done. Good for him, I say. Shows you anyone can have a good day at the track.
They did this qualifyin’ on a Saturday, in the afternoon. Folks were all excited, cheerin’ and whatnot. Some other fellas, Logano and Cindric, they were there too. Don’t know how they did, but they were racin’, that’s for sure. They all racin’ around that Charlotte track, tryin’ to get the best spot. This Bank of America Roval 400, they call it, this race in Charlotte. Sounds fancy, but it’s just racin’ cars, far as I can tell.

This racin’ happened back in May, and then again in October. Seems like they do it a lot. Must be important, all this qualifyin’ and racin’. Folks get all worked up about it, yellin’ and hollerin’ at the cars. I don’t get it, myself, but they seem to enjoy it. It’s always a big deal, especially when it’s in Charlotte. Charlotte’s a big city, lots of folks there, so I guess it makes sense.
So, that’s the gist of it, this NASCAR qualifying. Fast cars, loud noises, and folks gettin’ all riled up. Larson was fast, Van Gisbergen got the pole, and they all tryin’ to win this here playoff thing. That’s about all I know. It’s just a bunch of cars goin’ real fast, if you ask me. But hey, it keeps them fellas busy, and gives folks somethin’ to watch. And that’s what matters, I guess.
They got all these dates and times, May 25th, May 26th, October 13th… hard to keep track of it all. But them fellas, they know what they’re doin’. They got their schedules and their teams and all that fancy stuff. Me, I just watch ‘em go ‘round and ‘round. And sometimes, that’s enough. Just watchin’ the cars, hearin’ the roar of the engines, it’s somethin’ else. Even an old lady like me can appreciate that.
So, next time you hear about this Charlotte NASCAR qualifying, you’ll know a little somethin’ about it. Larson, Bell, Van Gisbergen… them’s the names to remember. And don’t forget them playoffs. That’s where the real action is, they say. But for now, it’s all about gettin’ that good startin’ spot. And that’s why this qualifyin’ stuff is so important, I reckon.
And that’s all I got to say about that. It’s just racin’, when you get right down to it. But it’s excitin’ racin’, and that’s why folks love it. And that’s good enough for me.
