Alright, let’s talk about this NASCAR stuff on TV this weekend, ya know? I ain’t no expert, but I figured I’d tell ya what I know, the way I understand it.

So, this weekend, there’s gonna be some racin’ on TV. They call it NASCAR. Sounds fancy, but it’s just cars goin’ ’round and ’round real fast. My grandson, he loves it. Always yellin’ at the TV, “Go faster! Go faster!” Kids these days, huh?
Now, if you wanna watch this NASCAR stuff, you gotta find the right channel. Seems like it’s always jumpin’ around. One time it’s on one channel, next time it’s on another. Confusin’ if ya ask me. But I think they said somethin’ about Fox, FS1, NBC, and that USA Network. Sounds like a whole lotta channels to me. Why can’t they just stick to one? Makes a body tired just thinkin’ about it.
- Fox: Seems like this is one of the main ones. If you got cable, you probably got it.
- FS1: This one, I ain’t so sure about. Guess it’s another sports channel. Like we need more of those.
- NBC: Now, this one I know. They got the news and all that on there too.
- USA Network: This one? I dunno. Sounds important though, bein’ called “USA” and all.
They also said somethin’ about watchin’ online. On somethin’ called streaming devices. Like Roku. Now, I ain’t got no Roku. Too fancy for me. I like my TV just the way it is. But I guess if you’re one of them young folks with all the gadgets, you can watch it that way too.
This weekend, they got different kinds of races. Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and somethin’ called CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? I guess the Cup Series is the big one. That’s the one my grandson gets all worked up about.
They also got somethin’ called qualifying. That’s when they figure out who gets to start where in the race. Seems like they do that on Saturday, but sometimes it’s Friday. See? Confusin’! They said the Xfinity Series qualifying is at 4 p.m. ET, and the Cup Series qualifying is at 5:05 p.m. ET. Now, what’s ET? Eastern Time? I’m in Central Time, so I gotta figure all that out too. They don’t make it easy, that’s for sure.

Then there’s the race itself. They got different names for ’em all the time. This weekend, I heard somethin’ about the Straight Talk Wireless 400. And another time, they was talkin’ about the DAYTONA 500. And somethin’ about the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte. So many races, so many names. Hard to keep track of it all. But they said the DAYTONA 500 is in February, and that Straight Talk Wireless 400 was in October. So maybe they change the names all the time, dependin’ on where they’re racin’.
They also said somethin’ about the NASCAR Championship. That sounds important. Guess that’s when they decide who’s the best racer of ’em all. My grandson, he’d probably know all about that. Me? I just watch ’em go ’round and ’round. Sometimes they crash, and that’s kinda excitin’, I guess. But mostly, it’s just cars goin’ fast.
If you wanna know for sure when and where to watch, you gotta look at the TV listings. They got ’em online, or in the newspaper, if you still get one of those. My eyes ain’t what they used to be, so I usually just ask my grandson. He knows all this stuff.
They also said somethin’ about the weather. For this weekend, they said it’s gonna be mainly sunny with a high of 71 degrees. That sounds nice. Good racin’ weather, I guess. Don’t want it rainin’, or they’ll have to stop, and my grandson will be all grumpy.
So, that’s about all I know about this NASCAR on TV this weekend. It’s on different channels, at different times, and they got different kinds of races. You gotta look at the TV listings to be sure. And if you’re fancy, you can watch it online with one of them streamin’ devices. Me? I’ll just stick to my regular TV. And maybe ask my grandson what channel it’s on. He always knows. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some dinner. All this talk about racin’ has made me hungry.

Remember to check the start times! Don’t want to miss the beginning, even though it’s mostly just cars driving around in a circle before the real racing starts. They call it warming up or something like that. Seems like a waste of gas to me, but what do I know?
And if you really like this stuff they got Greatest Races: NASCAR from way back in March. Guess they replay old races too. Maybe if you miss the race this weekend you can watch an old one. It’s all the same to me, cars just going fast.
So that’s the deal with the NASCAR television this weekend. Hope that helps ya some. If not, well, you can always ask your grandson too.
