Okay, so, let me tell you about this little project I got myself into. I was messing around with this game, “Metaphor: ReFantazio,” and there’s this character, Hulkenberg, right? Cool guy, but there was one tiny thing bugging me – his backside, or lack thereof. It looked weird, totally flat, not my cup of tea. I’m not a game developer, but I thought, “I can try to fix that, I have got to do something about it!”

First, I did some digging online. Turns out, I wasn’t the only one who noticed this. Some folks were saying it’s because it’s just a texture issue, and to really fix it, you’d need the actual 3D model of the character. I found this texture mod someone made, trying to make it less noticeable. I grabbed that to start with.
- Downloaded the texture mod: I got my hands on this texture that was supposed to help.
- Opened it up: I used some image editing software to check out the texture.
- Started tweaking: I’m no artist, but I started playing around with the colors and shading, trying to give Hulkenberg a bit more shape back there.
It was a lot of trial and error. I spent hours just messing with colors, trying to make it look right. I mean, it’s not easy making something look round when it’s just a flat image! I kept at it, going back and forth, trying different things. A friend helped me a lot, I have to give some thanks to him, he has a good eye for this stuff.
Finally, I got it to a point where I was kind of happy with it. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely an improvement. I packed it up as a mod, and bam, Hulkenberg’s got a new rear! I shared it with some friends who play the game, and they liked it, too. They said I did a good job.
What I Learned
Even if you’re not a pro, you can still make some cool changes. This whole thing started because I wanted to fix something that bothered me, and I did! It’s not a huge deal, but it made the game a bit more enjoyable for me. I am so proud of myself. Maybe next time, I’ll try to make bigger changes, who knows. I think I will do more practices in the future.
