Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out this whole “golf lawsonia” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I started out thinking, “What the heck is this even about?” I mean, “golf” and “lawsonia” just didn’t seem to go together in my head.

First, I googled it. You know, the usual. Just typed in “golf lawsonia” and hoped for the best. I got a bunch of stuff, some about golf courses, some about… plants? It was confusing.
Digging Deeper
Then, I started clicking around. I saw some stuff about Lawsonia Links, which is apparently a pretty famous golf course. I looked at some pictures. Okay, pretty… but that wasn’t quite what I was looking for.
- I checked out some forums. You know, those places where people talk about all sorts of random stuff.
- I found a few threads mentioning “Lawsonia” in the context of golf, but nothing super specific.
- Someone mentioned it was a type of grass, maybe? That got me thinking.
Hitting the Books (Sort Of)
So, I went back to Google, but this time, I searched for “Lawsonia golf grass”. Bingo! That seemed to be more on the right track. I learned that Lawsonia inermis is actually the scientific name for henna, a plant used for dye. But what’s that got to do with golf?
I dug around some more and it did not appear that the plant had anything to do with golf or golf courses.
Finally.
I decided it might be a play on words, or in inside joke so I just decided that there are things I’m never going to fully understand. And “golf lawsonia”? It might just be one of them and I am ok with it.
