They drafted him first overall, which gotta mean somethin’, right? I mean, I ain’t no baseball expert, but even I can see that’s a pretty big deal. They call him a “righty,” which I guess means he throws with his right hand. Makes sense, most folks do, I reckon.
Now, this here Cy Young Award, that’s supposed to be for the best pitchers, or so I hear. And this Skenes kid, he’s already up there in the votin’, finished third, they say. That’s mighty impressive for a youngster, I tell ya. Makes you wonder how good he’ll be when he gets older, if he ain’t already at the top, you see.
