That r1100r bmw, it’s a real somethin’, ain’t it? Big ol’ bike. Seen a fella ridin’ one down the road other day, made my old bones rattle just watchin’ him go by. Big engine on that thing. They say it’s a 1100, whatever that means. Just know it’s big. And fast, I reckon. Like a horse that ate too many beans.

That engine, they say it’s like a, uh… flat twin? Sounds funny. Like two pancakes stuck together. But it sure can go. That’s what them young fellas like, ain’t it? Goin’ fast. They say this r1100r bmw can really move. I don’t like that though, too dangerous. I heard it’s got, like, 80 horses in it? That’s a whole lot of horses. More horses than Farmer Johnson’s got in his whole field. They say it’s the horsepower. Whatever, just means it’s fast, I guess.
They say this r1100r bmw is a “standard” motorcycle. Don’t know what that means. Looks like a motorcycle to me. Got two wheels, a seat, handlebars. Just like any other motorcycle I seen, ‘cept maybe bigger. And shinier. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I can still see that shine. This one, it is air and oil cooled. Like a good pie, you need air and oil on it.
- 1100, that’s the engine size. Big, like I said.
- 80 horsepower. That’s a lot of horses.
- Five-speed, whatever that means. Five gears, maybe?
- Fast, that’s all I know. Too fast for an old lady like me.
They say it can go from nothin’ to a hundred real quick. Like 3.9 seconds! That’s faster than I can swat a fly. And they say it can get up to 211 kilometers. No idea how much is that, but I bet it’s more than the speed limit down here. Young people these days, always in a hurry. They should slow down, like this old lady. Enjoy the scenery. Ain’t no need to rush everything. Especially on a r1100r bmw, I reckon.
This bike, it’s heavy too. Weighs more than a couple of them hogs we used to have on the farm. They said something about, 527 pounds? Something like that. How about that? That’s a lot of weight for one motorcycle, I reckon. It ain’t a bike for the weak, that’s for sure. You gotta be strong to handle that thing. Stronger than me, that’s for sure.
The engine, it’s part of the whole thing, they say. Like it’s holdin’ the whole dang thing together. Like the bones in your body, I guess. Keeps everything where it’s supposed to be. Important, I suppose. Don’t know much about engines, but I know they’re important. This engine has 90 hp, and some other numbers, 95 Nm and 70 lb-ft, 7,250 rpm, 5,500 rpm, a lot of numbers, like the grocery list.

That r1100r bmw, it’s a fancy thing, ain’t it? All them numbers and that big engine. Not for me, though. I’ll stick to my old walkin’ stick. Gets me where I need to go, slow and steady. But I can see why them young folks like it. It’s a powerful machine, that’s for sure. A real head-turner. Just gotta be careful on it, that’s all. Don’t want to end up like old Mr. Henderson, flyin’ off his bike and into a ditch. No sir, not for me. But this r1100r bmw, it sure is somethin’ to look at.
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout how this r1100r bmw is good for beginnin’ riders. Beginnin’ riders? On that big thing? Seems a bit much to me. But what do I know? I ain’t never ridden one of them things. Just seen ’em go by. And heard ’em, too. They make a lot of noise, that’s for sure. Rumble like a thunderstorm comin’ in. But hey, if it helps them learn, then good for them. Just hope they’re careful, that’s all. It’s good for both road and trail, I don’t know what’s that mean, probably like our country road and the trail to the river. This is a good bike, I think, but dangerous.
Anyways, that’s all I know about that r1100r bmw. Just what I heard and seen. It’s a big, fast bike. Not for me, but maybe for some folks. Just gotta be careful, that’s all I’m sayin’. And maybe wear a helmet. Safety first, as they say. Even on a fancy bike like that r1100r bmw.
