Hey everyone, so I’ve been messing around with some basketball stuff lately, specifically about Julius Randle and the Lakers. You know, thinking about Randle’s time with the Lakers and what’s been happening since he left.

First off, I looked back at when Randle was drafted. Remember, he was the seventh pick back in 2014? I dug up his stats from those early days – averaging around 13 points and almost 9 rebounds a game. Not too shabby for a young gun, right?
Then I started thinking about how things were going for the Lakers back then. It was around the time after Mikan retired in ’56, and the team later moved to Los Angeles. Attendance wasn’t great, and things were kinda shaky.
Randle’s Move and Lakers’ Changes
So, Randle played with the Lakers for four seasons, and then he moved on. I got curious about what would happen if he somehow ended up back with the Lakers. I know, it’s a bit of a stretch, but I started brainstorming different scenarios.
- One idea I had was a wild trade where the Lakers would get Randle, Evan Fournier, Kemba Walker, and Alec Burks. In return, the Knicks would get Russell Westbrook. I know, I know, it’s a crazy thought, but it was fun to imagine.
- Another scenario I cooked up was the Lakers getting Randle, and the Knicks receiving Lauri Markkanen. Again, just playing around with ideas here.
I also spent some time checking out what the Lakers are up to now. They’re always busy, hosting draft workouts and stuff. It seems like they’re trying to figure out who to bring back next season and who might be on the trading block. There’s a lot of talk about them being interested in Dejounte Murray and even Zach LaVine.
This whole thing got me thinking about the “what ifs” and how teams change over time. It’s interesting to see how players move around and how teams try to rebuild and get better. I had a blast just diving into these scenarios and seeing what could happen. It’s like a fun little puzzle to try and solve.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to. Just a bit of basketball daydreaming. It was a good time, and I thought I’d share my little adventure with you all. Hope you enjoyed it!
