Alright, let’s talk about them Chicago Cubs, yeah, the ones who won that World Series thingy back in 2016. Don’t rightly know all the fancy baseball talk, but I can tell ya ’bout the fellas who played, the ones who brought home the bacon, so to speak.

That Joe Maddon, he was the manager, the boss man. Told the fellas what to do, where to stand, all that. Must’ve been a smart fella, that Maddon, ’cause them Cubs, they won it all! First time in a long, long while, they said. Folks were real happy, parades and everything, real joyful it was. They say they hadn’t won since like nineteen-ought-eight. That’s a long time, even for an old gal like me!
They played in this thing called the World Series, see? It’s like the big game, the final showdown. And them Cubs, they were down, almost out. But they came back, won three games in a row, won it all! Folks were talkin’ ‘bout it for weeks, months even. Made history, they did. Beat them other fellas from… somewhere else, I don’t recall now where they were from, but they were good too. This here 2016 championship, it was a real nail-biter, folks sayin’ they were on the edge of their seats the whole time.
Now, some of them players, they ain’t with the Cubs no more. Went off to other teams, they did. But folks still remember ’em, specially that 2016 team.
