This here Seattle Sounders, they’re playing some team called Necaxa. Sounds fancy, huh? It’s some big soccer game, I reckon. They call it Leagues Cup. My grandson, he’s always going on about these soccer games. He says it’s a big deal, this one. Says it’s on Sunday. That’s the good Lord’s day, but I guess these fellas gotta play sometime.
They playing it at home, here in Seattle. So that’s good. Maybe they got a better chance winning at home. Don’t know much about this Necaxa, but they come from somewhere called Liga MX. Sounds like a whole ‘nother country to me. They best be ready to face our boys, I tell you what.
If you wanna go to this game, you gotta buy tickets. You can use this “Ticketmaster” thing. Sounds like a load of hogwash to me. But the young folks, they know all about these things. I just use my old phone to call people. Don’t need no fancy stuff. If you ask me, them Seattle Sounders tickets probably cost an arm and a leg.
I heard if our boys win this game, they get to go on to the next one. That’s how these things work. You gotta keep winning. Just like life, I guess. You lose, you’re out. Plain and simple. If they don’t win fair and square in regular time, they do some kinda penalty shootout. The winner gets an extra point. I don’t know. Sounds complicated. But hey, it’s just a game, right?

They got a website, these Seattle Sounders. Got all the information you could ever want. Tickets, schedules, scores, who’s who… all that stuff. Too much for me to keep track of. I just like watching them run around and kick that ball. That’s all I need to know.
This game, it’s gonna be on that Apple TV thing. Everyone’s got one of them now, it seems. Even I got one. My grandson set it up for me. Said it’s free to watch. Well, that’s good. Free is always good. They also gonna play it on some channel called FS1 and UniM�s. Don’t have cable, so I don’t know about those. And then there’s a radio station too, El Rey 1360AM. If you like listening on the radio, that is.
They call this place where they playing Lumen Field. Big fancy stadium. They even have rules about what you can bring. You gotta have a clear plastic bag. Can’t bring in just any old thing. Security and all that. It’s a different world these days, I tell you. They are very serious about the rules of the Seattle Sounders game.
My grandson, he’s a big fan of this Jordan Morris fella. Says he’s the best player on the Seattle Sounders. I don’t know about that. They all look pretty good to me. Running around like that, they must be in good shape. I get tired just walking to the mailbox.
They say this is a big game for the Sounders vs Necaxa. They got playoffs and all that coming up. It’s important to win, I guess. They gotta do their best. That’s all you can ask for, right? Give it your all.

Anyway, I hope our Seattle Sounders win. It would be great for the city. And it would make my grandson very happy. That’s all that matters to me, really. Seeing my family happy. That’s what life’s all about, ain’t it?
