Alright, so I finally decided to give “smash 6” a try. I’d heard some buzz about it, and, you know, figured why not?

First things first, I grabbed the game. That part was easy enough. Then came the install. I clicked through all the usual prompts, waited for what felt like forever (it was probably, like, 10 minutes, tops), and boom, it was ready to go.
Diving In
I fired up the game, and the intro cinematic started playing. Honestly, it was pretty slick. Good graphics, intense music—it definitely got me hyped.
Next, I jumped into the character select screen. So. Many. Choices! Seriously, it was a little overwhelming at first. I spent a good chunk of time just scrolling through, checking out all the different fighters and their costumes.
- Picked my character: a cool-looking warrior.
- Went to select stages.
- Customized the controls a bit. Felt a little clunky at first, so I switched a couple of buttons around to make it more comfortable.
I figured I’d start with a quick practice match against the computer. Nothing too crazy, just to get a feel for the controls and the gameplay. I set the AI to easy, because, hey, I’m a noob. I mashed some buttons. I figured out the basic attacks, the special moves, and how to block (sort of). It took a few rounds, but I finally managed to get the hang of things.
Getting Competitive (Sort Of)
After feeling somewhat confident, I decided to brave the online multiplayer. Big mistake. Maybe not “big,” but definitely a mistake. I got absolutely destroyed. Like, not even close. These other players were clearly way more experienced. I mean, they were pulling off combos I didn’t even know existed.

I stuck with it, though. Played a few more matches, lost a few more times, but I slowly started to see some improvement. I even managed to win a couple of rounds! It felt good. Really good.
So, that’s where I’m at with “smash 6” so far. It’s been a mix of frustration and excitement, but overall, I’m having a blast. I’ve still got a ton to learn, but I’m definitely hooked. Gonna keep practicing and see if I can actually get good at this thing.
