Well, let me tell you, this here League of Legends thing, it’s a big deal, ain’t it? They got this new way of doin’ things called the Swiss stage. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a bunch of games, really. They playin’ it in October, start on 3rd, I heard. All them young folks glued to their screens, watchin’ it all unfold.

This Swiss stage thing, it goes on for a while, from October 3 to 13. Long time, huh? And get this, they got 16 teams playin’. 16! That’s a whole lot of folks tryin’ to win. They say it starts in Berlin. Where’s that? Somewhere far, I reckon.
Now, they play up to five rounds, and they ain’t playin’ the same team twice. No sir, they call that “rematches are blocked”. Once you play ’em, that’s it. You move on to the next one. Keeps things movin’, I guess.
And here’s the kicker – you gotta win three games. Win three, and you’re in the next part, the “Knockout Stage”. Sounds rough, don’t it? But if you lose three, well, you’re done. Pack your bags and go home, I suppose. That’s the way it goes in this League of Legends.
They say some of these games, the important ones, they play best of three. That means you gotta win two out of three. Other games, just one and done. Simple as that. They call the big ones “qualification” and “elimination” matches. Sounds serious, huh?
Now why they changed it to this Swiss stage thing? Some folks say it makes the games more fair. They say it makes it so the teams that are kinda equal get to play each other more. Makes sense, I reckon. Don’t want no team gettin’ stomped on every time, do ya?

- Win three games, you move on.
- Lose three, you’re out.
- No playin’ the same team twice.
- Some games are best of three, others just one.
- It’s all happenin’ in October.
They got all these teams, see, and they put ’em in groups, like. I don’t know all the names, but there’s a whole bunch of ’em. Each team only plays another team once. Like I said before, no repeats. They’re all fightin’ to get those three wins. Three wins and you’re golden. But if you get three losses, well, it’s like gettin’ weeded out of the garden. You’re gone.
This whole League of Legends Swiss stage, it’s a lot to keep track of. But it sure is excitin’ for them that’s into it. My grandbaby, he’s all about it. He could tell ya all the teams, all the players. Me, I just nod along and try to keep up.
So, this here Swiss Stage, it’s like a big tournament. Like a county fair, but with computers and games instead of prize-winning pies. They all want to win, that’s for sure. And it’s gonna be a long haul, all the way to October 13. Lots of games to be played, lots of winnin’ and losin’ to be done.
I don’t know all the ins and outs, but it seems like a fair enough way to do things. You play, you win, you move on. You lose too many, you go home. Just like life, I reckon. You gotta win more than you lose if you wanna get ahead in this world, that League of Legends or otherwise.
This whole thing is happening in this place called Switzerland too, they mentioned. Funny name, sounds like cheese. But they are doing this League of Legends things there. All these players going there to play. It must be important if they are all going over there.

It’s a new thing, this Swiss Stage. They used to do it different before, I hear. But they changed it up. Makes it more excitin’, maybe. More fair, like I said. Keeps everyone on their toes, that’s for sure. You gotta be ready to play your best, or you’ll be sent packin’.
This here League of Legends, it’s a big world. Lots of folks watchin’, lots of folks playin’. And this Swiss Stage is just one part of it. But it’s an important part, that’s for sure. It’s where they decide who’s the best of the best. Who’s gonna go on to the big show and who’s gonna be left behind. It’s a tough game, this League of Legends. But that’s what makes it so excitin’, I suppose.
They are doin’ all this startin’ on October 3rd. Mark your calendars, if you’re into that sort of thing. It is gonna be a wild ride, that is a sure thing. I will try to understand it better for my grandbaby.
