Okay, so last weekend, I finally got around to checking out Thanksgiving Point Golf Club. I’d heard a bunch about it, figured it was time to see what all the fuss was about. Here’s the lowdown:

First off, booking the tee time was pretty straightforward. I just hopped online, found a slot that worked with my schedule (which is usually a nightmare), and bam, done. No fuss, no muss.
Got there a little early, you know, to soak it all in. The place is HUGE. Like, seriously sprawling. The clubhouse is nice, nothing too over-the-top, but clean and well-kept. Checked in, grabbed a coffee, and watched some folks teeing off on the first hole. Looked intimidating, but hey, I was ready (or at least, I told myself I was).
The course itself… man, it’s a beast. Lots of elevation changes, which I actually enjoyed. Makes for some interesting shots. The fairways were in great shape, really well-maintained. The greens, though? Tricky! Fast and undulating. I three-putted more than I care to admit. Definitely gotta work on my putting game.
- Hole #5 was a killer par 3 over water. Almost lost a ball there. Thankfully, I managed to clear it… barely.
- Hole #12, the long par 5, was my nemesis. Just couldn’t seem to get my second shot right. Ended up in the rough, then the bunker. Ugh.
- But Hole #18? Nailed it! Drove the ball straight down the middle, stuck my approach shot close, and two-putted for birdie. Ended the round on a high note, which is always a good feeling.
The weather was perfect. Sunny, a slight breeze, not too hot. Couldn’t have asked for a better day for golf. The views were pretty awesome too. You could see the mountains in the distance, made for a really scenic round.
Afterwards, I grabbed a bite to eat at the grill. Nothing fancy, just a burger and fries, but it hit the spot. Chatted with a couple of other golfers, swapped some war stories, you know, the usual.

All in all, it was a solid day of golf. Thanksgiving Point is definitely a challenging course, but it’s also a lot of fun. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a good test of their skills. I’ll definitely be back to try and conquer those greens!
