Okay, so the other day I was watching some old football footage, and I stumbled upon this clip of Steve Belichick, the Patriots’ outside linebackers coach. You know, Bill Belichick’s son. And this dude… he’s got this thing he does with his tongue. It’s wild!

I had to figure out what was going on, So, I did what any normal person would do: I dove headfirst into the internet.
My Deep Dive (Not Really That Deep)
- First, I just watched a bunch of clips. Over and over. I felt like I was studying game film myself! I just focused on the tongue.
- It wasn’t constant. I tried it see if it happened during intense moments? Nope.
- Then, tried if it only happened when he was talking? Nope.
- Then, When he was just standing there? Still nope.
I started to think, is it a nervous tics, Some people bite their nails, some people tap their feet, and apparently, some people do weird stuff with their tongues, It’s just a thing, a quirk. No big deal.
I kept looking up at the internet, it turns out, I’m not the only one who’s noticed. There are entire Reddit threads and Twitter conversations dedicated to this, people sharing GIFs, making jokes, all that stuff. I felt a little less crazy, and I wasn’t alone in my fascination, I was one of many!
So, what did I ultimately achieve? Honestly, not much in the grand scheme of things, I didn’t crack some secret code, I didn’t diagnose anything, I just spent a good chunk of time observing a guy’s tongue movements. I tried to make it, and the results were me just looking very wierd.
But hey, it was entertaining, and that’s gotta count for something, right? It’s a reminder that sometimes the internet can be a weird and wonderful place, where we can all bond over the strange little things we notice. Plus I found new meme material!
