Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole racehorse thing, and let me tell you, it’s wild. I decided to look up this famous horse, American Pharoah. You know, the one that won the Triple Crown back in 2015? Yeah, that one.

First, I went online, started poking around to find out how much it costs to breed with this guy. I mean, he’s a big deal, right? Turns out, it’s not cheap. Not cheap at all.
I started with some basic searches, just typing in things like “American Pharoah stud fee.” Loads of articles popped up. I started clicking through them, trying to get a handle on the numbers.
Getting into the Details
- I found out that initially, right after he retired, his stud fee was set at a whopping $200,000. Two hundred grand! For one, uh, “session,” if you catch my drift.
- Then I looked up his offspring. How are they doing in races? Apparently, he sired four top-level winners. Also, some turf horses initially. But recently, he had two offsprings win on dirt. This Japan’s February Stakes winner called Cafe Pharoah and another called As Time Goes By.
- Another triple crown winner Justify’s stud fee is even more expensive, at $250,000.
- American Pharoah’s offspring are not doing as well as expected. So his stud fee has dropped and not publicized anymore.
So, yeah, that’s what I learned about American Pharoah’s stud fee. It’s a crazy world, this horse racing business. And that’s all the digging I’m doing for now. I need a break from all these numbers!
