So, I’ve been diving deep into this whole “Djokovic coach” thing, you know, like, how did this guy become such a tennis beast? It’s wild! And let me tell you, it’s been a journey.

First off, I started digging into his routine. Man, this guy’s warm-up alone is intense! He’s got this whole calisthenics thing down, starting with dynamic stretches and some light cardio. I tried a few of those stretches, and let me tell you, they’re not for the faint of heart. Then, he goes into push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges. I mean, seriously, who does that many lunges and lives to tell the tale? I definitely tried. Not sure I succeeded, but hey, I’m still here, right?
- Dynamic stretches: I started by copying some of Djokovic’s dynamic stretches. Felt like a noodle, but hey, gotta start somewhere.
- Light cardio: Jogged around the block. Almost got hit by a car. Note to self: pay more attention to traffic.
- Bodyweight exercises: Attempted push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and lunges. Key word: attempted.
Then, I found out that he started playing tennis super young. Like, six years old young! His parents sent him to some tennis camp at Mount Kopaonik. Now, I didn’t go to any fancy tennis camps as a kid. My version of a tennis camp was hitting a ball against the garage door until my mom yelled at me to stop. But still, it got me thinking about the importance of starting early.
Here is my story:
- Sent to tennis camp at Mount Kopaonik at 6 years old. Wow, that’s dedication!
- No tennis camp for me, just the good old garage door.
And then, the plot twist! Apparently, Djokovic is teaming up with Andy Murray as his coach. This is nuts! They were rivals, battling it out in like seven grand slam finals. And now, Murray is going to bring a “fresh look” to his game? I mean, who saw that coming? I didn’t even think about these two together. It’s like something out of a movie. I’m here for it, though. Can’t wait to see how this plays out in the 2025 season. Maybe I’ll even start watching tennis again.
- Djokovic and Murray were rivals, now coach and player. Mind blown.
- Seven grand slam finals. That’s intense.
- “Fresh look” for Djokovic’s game? I’m intrigued.
I also heard some rumors about Djokovic’s former coach, Ivanisevic. I know all of you are interested in the money part. Well, the word on the street is that he was making some serious dough. Like, six figures serious. Some reports are saying between $300,000 and $500,000. I mean, I guess when you’re coaching a legend, you get paid like one. I also wanted to find out the reason why they split up. But, no luck this time.

- Six-figure salary for Ivanisevic. Not bad.
- $300,000 to $500,000? That’s some serious cash.
Lastly, I even tried implementing some of Novak’s training advice, like foam rolling and stretching, even a bit of yoga. Let’s just say, I’m not as flexible as I thought I was. But, I felt good afterward, so maybe there’s something to this whole wellness thing after all.
- Foam rolling: Felt weird, but kinda good?
- Stretching: Still not a pretzel.
- Yoga: Namaste, I guess?
So yeah, that’s my deep dive into the world of Djokovic’s coaching and training. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m definitely not done yet.
