Okay, so I wanted to figure out who holds the record for most assists in soccer history. It’s one of those things that just bugged me, you know? So, I started digging.
My Little Research Project
First, I just did a simple search. I mean, that’s where everyone starts, right? I typed in “most assists in soccer history” and, boom, a bunch of names and numbers popped up. It was kinda overwhelming at first, a lot of different websites, some agreeing, some not so much.
Then I decided to be more precise. It can make a huge differences. I tried to read carefully, find some patterns about the names, the numbers.
I started making a list. Old-school, pen and paper. I wrote down all the names that kept coming up:

- Name 2 Numbers…
- Name 3 Numbers…
I made sure that I recorded all numbers that are mentioned with the names I found.
After that, I started comparing. Which sites seemed more reliable? Which ones had actual stats to back up their claims? Some were clearly just fan pages, others looked like they had some real data behind them. I focused on the ones that seemed more legit.
It was a bit of a slog, to be honest. Lots of going back and forth, checking different sources, trying to see who was saying what. But eventually, I started to get a clearer picture.
Finally I double-checked the numbers, then made myself a conclusion. That’s a very satisfied moment, really made my day!
