Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “top US golf courses” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started out just poking around, you know, curious about where the best places to swing a club in America are.

First, I started by searching a lot on the internet. I typed in a bunch of stuff like “best golf courses in the US” and “top public golf courses.” It was a mess. It was like a ton of websites and lists, all saying different things. I just wanted to find a website that looked like it would have info I wanted. I saw something called “GOLF’s Course Finder.” I didn’t click the link, but it got me thinking that there were tools out there to find courses.
Then, I started checking out some of the names that kept popping up. The Old Course at St Andrews was one. Then there’s this Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach. I saw some others like this Lido in Wisconsin, Gamble Sands in Washington, and Sand Hills in Nebraska, and they sounded pretty cool too. They talked about “strategic designs” and “wide fairways,” which sounded like they would be a fun time.
I also found a list of the “Top 100 Golf Courses”.It was talking about all the world’s great courses. Seemed like a good resource, but I didn’t click on anything. Just made a mental note to check it out later.
So, after all this looking around, I finally figured out a game plan. I tried to write down a list of the places I thought were the most interesting, and I started a note to plan some trips there.
- Go to that place in Scotland, the St Andrews one.
- Check out Cypress Point Club sometime when I’m in California.
- See if I can get to one of those other places, like in Wisconsin or Washington.
Man, it took a while, but I think I’ve got a decent handle on this whole top US golf courses thing now. It’s not just about hitting a ball; it’s about the whole experience, the scenery, the challenge. I’m definitely more excited about golf now than I was before. And I’m already thinking about planning a trip to check some of these places out.

My Plan
I want to go to these places. Play some golf there. See what they are like. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll find my new favorite golf course. This whole thing started as just a simple search, but now it’s turned into a whole adventure. And you know what? I’m totally here for it.
