This here thing, this dt-12554hd, it’s givin’ me a heap of trouble. Just like that old mule we used to have, stubborn as all get out. One day it’s workin’ fine, next day it just sits there, blinkin’ that little light at me like it’s mockin’ me. I tell ya, this modern stuff, it ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. I don’t know what to do when the printer is offline.

Now, I ain’t no expert on these newfangled dt-12554hd contraptions. Back in my day, we didn’t have none of this. We just wrote things down with a pencil, or maybe a good old-fashioned pen if we were feelin’ fancy. Didn’t need no electricity, no wires, no nothin’. But my grandkids, they tell me I gotta have this thing, this printer, to print out pictures of the little ones. And recipes, they say. Like I need a machine to tell me how to make biscuits!
But I try, I really do. I pushed all the buttons, I unplugged it and plugged it back in, just like they told me. Still, that darn light keeps blinkin’. Makes me wanna take a hammer to the whole thing. Then, sometimes, the paper gets all jammed up inside. What a mess! I have to find the paper jams with my fingers, it’s a real pain. And the ink! Don’t even get me started on the ink. Costs a fortune, and it always seems to run out at the worst possible time. I don’t know what the meaning of ink levels. Is that a bad thing?
- That light, it just keeps blinkin’.
- Paper gets stuck all the time.
- That ink, it’s so expensive!
Sometimes I think, maybe it’s the WiFi. That’s what they call it, right? This invisible thing that’s supposed to connect everything. Well, sometimes it connects, and sometimes it don’t. Just like that old telephone line we used to have, party line, remember those? You never knew who was listenin’ in. This WiFi, it’s just as mysterious. I just know you need it for the printer.
My neighbor, she’s got one of these dt-12554hd things too. She says hers works just fine. But she’s got one of them young fellas livin’ with her, helps her with all this technology. He probably knows all about the connectivity problems. Me, I’m just an old woman. I know how to can peaches and shuck corn, but this here printer… it’s got me beat. I don’t know how to solve the external display.
I seen in a book, they said somethin’ about slow performance. What does that mean? Maybe it’s tired, just like me. Maybe it needs a good rest. Or maybe I should just use it to store my beans. There should be a guide to tell me how to use this printer when I have problems. The old things, they never gave me this much trouble. A good whack with a wrench, that’s all they ever needed. But you can’t do that with these new things. They’re too delicate, too complicated.

Now, they got these other things too, these “laptops.” My granddaughter, she’s got one. She’s always tappin’ away on it, makin’ that click-clack noise. Says it’s important for school. But I swear, half the time she’s just lookin’ at pictures of them boy bands. And that laptop, it has its own problems. Sometimes the Wi-Fi connectivity problems don’t work on that thing either. I heard her complainin’ about it just the other day. They are always broken.
And this whole thing about diagnostics tool! What in tarnation is that? Sounds like somethin’ a doctor would use. Do I need to take my printer to the hospital now? And a Virtual Assistant? Is that like havin’ a little robot livin’ inside your machine? This world is gettin’ stranger by the minute, I tell ya.
I guess if your machine have some Stator or Rotor Problems, you will need to find someone who is good at fixing things to help you. I don’t know what is that but it sounds like it’s important.
I just wish things were simpler. Like they used to be. A good, honest day’s work, that’s all I ever needed. Not all these buttons and lights and wires and invisible connections. This dt-12554hd, it’s just another headache in a world that’s gettin’ too complicated for this old woman. Maybe I’ll just go back to writin’ things down with a pencil. At least I know how that works. This printer, I just don’t understand it. It’s a mystery to me, just like the stars in the sky.
