Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get out to the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa for a while now. Heard some good things, seen some pretty pictures, you know how it is. Finally, I carved out a day and made it happen. Let me tell you about it.

First thing I did was, I looked the place up online. Needed to get the lay of the land, figure out tee times, that sort of stuff. I found some pictures, It’s a good thing to start.
Getting There and Getting Started
The drive down there was pretty chill. Not too much traffic, which is always a plus. When I pulled up, the place looked… impressive. I mean, it’s a resort, so you expect a certain level of, you know, niceness, but this was definitely up there. Lots of green, sprawling grounds, the whole nine yards.
Checked in at the pro shop. The staff were super friendly, helped me get sorted with a cart and everything. I’m not the best golfer, so I appreciated the no-pressure vibe.
Hitting the Course
Now, the course itself… that’s where things got really interesting. I’m used to playing the local public course, which, don’t get me wrong, is fine, but this was a whole different level. I Started from checking the map.
- The Greens: Super well-maintained. Fast, but not ridiculously so. I actually felt like I had a chance to sink a few putts.
- The Fairways: Wide enough that I didn’t feel like I was constantly going to lose my ball, but with enough challenges to keep things interesting.
- The Layout: This is where it got me. There are actually three different nine-hole courses there: the Anza, the Otero, and the Rancho. I played a combination of them, and each one had its own personality.
I spent a good few hours out there, just soaking it all in. The weather was perfect, the scenery was amazing, and honestly, even my bad shots didn’t bother me too much. It was just one of those days where you’re happy to be outside, doing something you enjoy.

Wrapping Up
After I finished my round, I grabbed a bite to eat at the resort’s restaurant. Sat outside, enjoyed the view, and just kind of reflected on the day. It was definitely a splurge, playing at a place like Tubac, but honestly, it was worth it.
I am fully totally relaxed, I will be back at there.
