Okay, here’s my blog post about creating the “Utah Misty Snow” effect, written from my personal experience, using simple language and basic HTML tags:
Alright, so I had this idea to try and capture that cool, misty snow look you see in pictures of Utah sometimes. I’m no pro, just like messing around, so here’s how it went down.
Getting Started
First, I needed a picture, of course. I didn’t have any actual photos, I looked through my photo and chose a photo which I shooted before.
The Process
My Steps:
- I opened the image with my phone, and began to edit.
- Playing with Colors: I cooled down the whole photo. I bumped up the blues and dialed back the yellows. And reduce the saturation.
- Adding Some Mist: I found the adjustment, there is a fade effect in there. I played aroud it.
- Light Adjust: The light is also the key. I reduce the hightlight and increase the shadow, to make the detail of the picture emerged in the mist and snow.
After all the steps above, I saved my work.
The Result
I was pretty stoked with how it turned out! It really did have that sort of soft, dreamy vibe I was going for. It’s not perfect, for sure, but hey, it was fun to mess around and try something new.
That is all the progress, just did it!
