Okay, so, I’ve been digging into this whole “weekly dungeon rotation” thing in Destiny 2, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I wanted to share what I’ve been up to because, honestly, it’s a pretty neat system once you get the hang of it.

First off, I had no clue what this rotation even was. I mean, I’ve been playing Destiny 2 for a while, but I mostly stuck to the story stuff and some casual strikes. But then, I saw some folks talking about farming specific dungeons for loot, and that got me curious.
So, I started by looking up what dungeons were even in the rotation. Turns out, Bungie, those guys who made the game, they pick a different dungeon each week to be the “featured” one. That means you can play it as many times as you want to grind for the good stuff, and you’ll get rewards each time you complete an encounter. Pretty cool, right?
Then, I had to figure out which dungeon was up this week. I checked on the director screen in the game, under the Vanguard tab, and found it listed there. It was the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. I had done it once or twice before and I love this dungeon because of the funny trap mechanism.
- I teamed up with a couple of buddies. One of them is a Destiny 2 veteran, so he was basically our guide.
- We launched the dungeon from the director screen.
- We started playing through the encounters.
The first few runs were a bit rough. We were getting used to the mechanics again, figuring out the best strategies, and all that. But my veteran friend, he was a lifesaver. He explained all the tricky parts, showed us where to stand, what to shoot, and how not to die a horrible death.
After a while, we started getting into a rhythm. We were clearing the encounters faster, coordinating our supers, and generally just having a blast. And the loot? Oh man, the loot. I managed to snag a few pieces of armor with some pretty sweet stats, and I even got a couple of god-rolled weapons. Talk about a good haul!

We ended up running the dungeon a bunch of times that day. It was a grind, for sure, but it was totally worth it. Not only did I get some awesome gear, but I also learned a lot about the dungeon itself and how to play it more efficiently. Plus, it was just fun hanging out with my friends and taking down some alien baddies.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with the weekly dungeon rotation in Destiny 2. It’s a great way to farm for specific loot, learn the mechanics of different dungeons, and just have a good time with your fireteam. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot. Just make sure you know which dungeon is in rotation and maybe bring along a friend who knows what they’re doing, at least for the first few runs. Happy hunting, Guardians!
