Okay, so I got this thing called “4x against water” and I was like, what the heck is this? I did some digging and found out it’s about how good something is at keeping water out. I mean, yeah, I get it, water can mess things up, right? So, I decided to put it to the test myself.

First off, I got a few things that claimed to be “4x against water”. I won’t say names, but you know, stuff like gadgets and gear that are supposed to be all tough against water. Then I grabbed some other things that didn’t say anything about being water-resistant, just to compare. I made sure I had a good mix.
Here’s what I did: I took each item and exposed it to water. Not like, throwing it in the ocean, but more like a real-life scenario. I started with a simple splash test. I just flicked some water on them to see what happened.

For the “4x against water” things, the water just rolled right off. Like magic! For the others, well, they got wet. No surprise there, I guess.
Next, I simulated some rain. I used a spray bottle and gave each item a good misting. Again, the “4x” stuff held up pretty well. The water beaded up and didn’t soak in. The non-water-resistant items? They started to get a bit soggy.
This was the big one. I filled a container with water and dunked each item for a few seconds. I wanted to see if they could handle being submerged, even if it was just for a short time. The “4x against water” items came out fine, for the most part. A couple had a little bit of water seep in, but nothing major. The other stuff? Let’s just say they didn’t enjoy their little swim.

After each test, I checked to see how the items were doing. I looked for any signs of water getting inside, like if they stopped working or if there was condensation under a screen. It was kind of fun, in a nerdy way.
So, what did I learn from all this? Well, “4x against water” seems to mean something, at least based on my little experiment. The items that claimed to have it definitely performed better in the water tests than the ones that didn’t. But, it’s not a guarantee of being totally waterproof. I think it’s more like, they can handle some water exposure without getting ruined.
And you know what? This whole thing got me thinking about how important it is to know what your stuff can handle. I mean, if you’re going to be out in the rain or near water a lot, it makes sense to have things that are built to withstand it. Otherwise, you might end up with a soggy mess and a broken gadget.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of “4x against water”. It was a fun and I hope you got something useful from it.
