I tried something new recently, I wanna give it a shot, it’s called “mindframe horse”. I have no idea about this before, so I searched some info about it.

Then I found out that safety and comfort are the most important things for a horse. Oh, they are so cute, just like babies, I should be nice to them. And also they learn things through repetition, just like us, so I decided to be patient and give it a try.
I went to a local horse farm, it’s a big farm and full of horses, I was so excited! I saw a lot of horses there, they were walking, eating, and playing, some of them were just laying on the ground, seems like they’re enjoying the sunshine.
I was assigned a brown horse, he is so tall! I’ve never been so close to a horse before, I was a little bit nervous. I tried to touch him, he seems friendly, he did not try to avoid me, that’s a good start.
Then I started to practice the “mindframe horse” thing.
- First, I spent some time with him, just walking around, letting him know me, and get familiar with my smell, my voice, you know, just like making a new friend.
- Second, I tried to communicate with him, not by words of course, but by my body language and my energy. I tried to stay calm and relaxed, and I think he felt it.
- Third, I started to give him some instructions, like “walk”, “stop”, and “turn”. I used my body and my hands to guide him, and guess what? He followed my instructions! That was amazing!
I kept practicing these things again and again, and he became more and more responsive. We spent like 2 hours together, it was tiring but also fun, I felt like I built a connection with him.

Finally, I could ride him!
I know it’s just a basic practice, but for me, it’s a huge step. This “mindframe horse” thing really works, it’s not just about training the horse, it’s also about training myself, to be more patient, more understanding, and more connected with these amazing animals.
I really enjoyed this experience, I think I will keep practicing and learning more about it. Maybe someday I can become a real horse trainer, who knows? It all started with a simple try, and I am so glad I did it. And I think I like this brown horse, hope I can see him again next time.
