Okay, so I decided to dive into the “PGA Professional Championship” today. Honestly, I didn’t even know much about it before, so it was a total learning experience.

First, I scrolled through some websites to get a basic understanding. I quickly realized it’s a pretty big deal – only for PGA professionals, not the usual PGA Tour guys we see on TV all the time.
Then I started digging around for the list of players. It’s a massive field! And it’s all club pros, teaching pros, the folks who actually keep the game going at the local level. Super interesting.
- I checked out the qualification process. Lots of section championships and stuff, ways for these guys to earn their spots.
- I spent some time looking at past winners. It was cool to see names I’d never heard of, realizing these are seriously skilled players, even if they aren’t household names.
Next, I tried to find some info on the course. Where is it, what kind of challenges does it present? It’s all part of the story, right? It moves around the country.
My Deep Dive
I focused a bit more on the schedule. It has four rounds, just like the big tournaments. I imagined myself at my local course, and I realized the hard work the players do. It’s not just about playing; it’s their livelihood.

Finally, I looked for ways to maybe watch some of it. A lot of these smaller tournaments don’t get the same kind of coverage, so I was curious if there was any live streaming or * will probably take a little more searching.
Overall, it was a cool exploration. I went in knowing nothing and came out with a much better appreciation for the PGA professionals who keep the game running at the grassroots level. It’s a whole different side of golf than what we usually see, and it’s definitely worth checking out!
