Okay, so I decided to finally sit down and really get this tune under my fingers today. Been putting it off, you know how it is.

Getting Started
First thing, I dug out my guitar. Hadn’t played it much this week, felt a bit dusty, honestly. Tuned it up, always takes a minute. Then I pulled up the tab I’d saved ages ago. You know, one of those ones you find online. Looked okay, seemed straightforward enough at first glance.
The Practice Grind
Alright, tackled the intro riff. That part’s pretty recognizable, right? Got that down okay after a few runs. Felt good, built some confidence. But then, oh boy, then came that tricky bit. You know the one, with the faster changes?
Man, my fingers just wouldn’t cooperate. Felt like I had sausages instead of fingers. Kept tripping over the strings, hitting the wrong notes. It was rough going for a bit there.
- Tried playing it super slow. Like, painfully slow.
- Focused just on those few tricky bars, over and over.
- Had to really watch my fretting hand, make sure I wasn’t being sloppy.
It’s funny, sometimes you think you know how something goes in your head, but getting your hands to actually do it is a whole different story. Spent a good chunk of time just on that section. Drilled it again, and again, and again. Probably drove anyone else in the house nuts, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do.
Making Progress
After a while, it started to click. Not perfect, mind you, not by a long shot. But it started sounding less like a cat falling down the stairs and more like, well, the song. Could play through that difficult part without stopping, mostly. Still need to clean it up, get the timing smoother.
Then moved onto the next section. That felt a bit easier, thankfully. More straightforward chords, stuff I was more comfortable with. It felt good to play something that flowed a bit better after battling that one riff for so long.
Wrapped up the session after about an hour, maybe a bit more. Fingers were definitely feeling it. But hey, progress! It’s starting to sound like something. Still need loads more practice to get it performance-ready, but it felt good to finally tackle it and make some headway. That’s the main thing, right? Just keep chipping away at it.
