This here’s about that Two Emmys horse, a real good runner, I tell ya. Heard folks talking ’bout him down at the feed store, sayin’ he’s won some big races. Fast as a greased piglet, that one!
Now, I ain’t no expert on these fancy horse races, but I know a thing or two about animals. You gotta look at ’em close, see how they move, how they act. This Two Emmys, he’s got that look in his eye, like he’s ready to run his heart out.
They say he won some big race called the “Mr. D. Stakes.” Sounds important, don’t it? Must be a lot of money in that one. Heard it used to be called the “Arlington Million.” A million! Can you imagine? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life, I reckon.
And then there was another one, the “Muniz” somethin’ or other. He was a long shot in that one, they said. Nobody thought he’d win. But he did! Just goes to show ya, you can’t always trust them fancy folks with their numbers and their odds. Sometimes, a horse just wants to run, and when he does, he runs like the wind.
They got all these numbers and things about horses, track records and speed figures. Sounds complicated to me. I just like to watch ’em run. It’s excitin’, ain’t it? Seein’ them big, strong animals thunderin’ down the track. My old heart gets to thumpin’ just thinkin’ about it.

Back in February, he won another big one, the “Fair Grounds Stakes”. Sounds like a fair place to race, don’t it? Heard it was at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots. Slots? Like them machines you put money in? See, I don’t know nothin’ about that. But I know that horse can run.
Some folks say a horse’s speed, and how far he’s runnin’, and what kind of ground he’s on, that’s what matters. Could be. They say you gotta study all that stuff, look at all them numbers, if you wanna know who’s gonna win. Me, I just like to watch.
They say the favorite horse, that’s the one they think is gonna win. They got these people, “oddsmakers” and “handicappers”, they figure it all out. If you bet on the favorite, you got a good chance, they say. But it ain’t always that simple, is it? Two Emmys horse is a good example of that.
There was a race he run a while back, on December 24th, 2023, at this Fair Grounds place. They say he won big time, that race. James Graham, that was the fella ridin’ him. Hundred thousand dollars! That’s a lot of feed, I tell ya. Two Emmys winning again make people talk.
They say it’s all random, who wins. Like pullin’ names outta a hat. But some horses do seem to win more than others. This Two Emmys, he’s one of ’em. He’s got that somethin’ special, that’s for sure. That’s why Two Emmys race always a big news.
He’s gettin’ up there in years now, this horse. Seven years old, almost eight. But he ain’t slowed down none, they say. Still runnin’ strong. Good for him, I say. He’s earned it. All them races he’s won, all that money. He deserves a good retirement, that horse.
They gonna have another race soon, I hear. Hundred thousand dollars again. Eleven horses runnin’, they say. Be a good one to watch. I might just have to put a little somethin’ on Two Emmys myself. He’s my kind of horse. A real winner. And you will know Two Emmys next race if you follow the news.
You know, watchin’ them horses run, it makes me think about my old mule, Bessie. She wasn’t no racehorse, but she was a good worker. Strong and steady. Just like this Two Emmys. They both got that same spirit, that same will to win. I believe that Two Emmys horse is still strong.
