Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about catching Red Snapper in Stardew Valley. It was a pain, let me tell ya, but I finally figured it out, and I wanna share what worked for me.

First off, I knew I needed to be at the beach. No brainer, right? South of town. I wasted a whole bunch of time fishing in the wrong spot. Make sure you’re actually on the beach part. That’s step one, dummy, like me!
Then came the weather. The darn thing only spawns when it’s raining. I spent days checking the weather channel (you know, the TV in the game!), hoping for rain. Summer and fall, that’s when they pop up. I was trying in Spring at first! Major fail.
The rain finally came! I grabbed my fishing rod and hauled butt down to the beach. Cast after cast, nothing but seaweed and junk. I was getting seriously frustrated.
- I tried different bait. Didn’t seem to make a difference.
- I tried different times of day. Still nothing.
Then I remembered something I’d read online: you can use a Rain Totem in the winter. That’s how desperate I was. So, I crafted a rain totem, popped it down, and BAM! Rain. Winter rain. I went back to the beach.
Still nothing at first, but I kept at it. Then, finally, I saw it – that telltale jiggle on the fishing line. I clicked like a madman, fought the little sucker, and reeled it in. A Red Snapper! I almost yelled loud enough to wake up my real-life neighbors.

Now I’ve got a Red Snapper! Can sell it, use it in a recipe… whatever. The point is, I CAUGHT IT. The key for me was the rain totem in winter. And persistence, I guess. Don’t give up, folks. Those pixelated fish are tricky!
So, to recap: Beach, rain, summer or fall (or rain totem in winter). Good luck!
