Alright, so check this out, been messing around with some fun stuff lately. Thought I’d share how I went about making a “punch glove pokemon” thingy. It was a bit of a ride, but kinda cool in the end.

First things first, idea time! I was just doodling one day, you know, the usual. Then I thought, what if there was a Pokemon that was a punch glove? Like, literally is the glove? Seemed kinda dumb, kinda awesome. So, I went with it.
Next up: sketching. Grabbed my tablet and started sketching out some ideas. My first thought was to make it look super aggressive, all spikes and teeth. But nah, that’s been done. So I tried to make it more… goofy? Like a friendly but kinda clumsy boxer. Think Litten but with, you know, boxing gloves instead of paws. Drew a bunch of different poses, different styles of gloves, stuff like that.
Color time. Once I had a sketch I liked, I hopped into Photoshop. I wanted something bright and eye-catching, but not too crazy. Went with a sort of red and yellow color scheme, like a classic boxing glove. But then I added some blue details to make it pop. Kinda like a fire type but with a bit more flair. Took a while to find the right balance, fiddled with the hues for ages.
Details, details! The devil’s in the details, right? I added some stitching to the glove, some wear and tear to make it look like it’s been through a few fights. Gave it a little determined look in its “eyes” (which were basically just the holes where your fingers go, ha!). Then, I had to come up with some sort of lore for it.
- Called it “Knockout”. Real original, I know.
- Said it’s a fighting type, obviously.
- Said it’s super friendly but gets way too into battles. Like a puppy with a punch.
Bringing it to life! I really wanted to see what it would look like in 3D, so I installed blender (which I am not an expert at) and began to model this silly thing. There was a lot of trial and error, I’m not gonna lie. Watched a bunch of youtube tutorials, cursed a lot, almost threw my computer out the window. But eventually, I got something that looked vaguely like my sketch. Then, I added the colors and textures and had a semi-ok 3D version of it.

Final Touches! Threw it all together, cleaned it up a bit, and bam! Punch Glove Pokemon. Is it gonna win any awards? Nah. But was it a fun project? Heck yeah. Plus, I learned a thing or two about modelling and texturing.
Lessons Learned.
This whole experience was great! Here are some things I picked up along the way.
- Starting with simple shapes is key to make sure you have the rough outline down.
- Don’t be scared to experiment. You might stumble on something cool.
- Youtube is your friend.
- Patience, my dude, patience.
So yeah, that’s the story of how I made my punch glove Pokemon. Now to think of the next one!
