So, the other day, I was just kinda thinkin’ about basketball players, you know, how careers go. And Russell Westbrook came to mind. Man, that guy has been on a journey, playing for a bunch of different teams.

I got curious, like, who exactly were all his main teammates, especially the big names? It’s one thing to vaguely remember, but I wanted to actually go through it. So, I decided to do a little digging, just for myself, to see the whole picture. First thing I did was just open up a search page on my computer. Nothing fancy. I typed in something like “Russell Westbrook teams played for” and “Westbrook notable teammates.” Pretty basic stuff.
And then, you start seeing the lists and articles, and it really lays it out. It’s quite a roster when you actually stop and look.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Alright, so first up, gotta start with OKC. That’s where he blew up, became MVP. The first big name that jumps out is obviously Kevin Durant. They were a duo for years. And then, for a while there, James Harden was also part of that young core. Wild to think about now. Later on, after KD left, Paul George teamed up with him in OKC for a couple of seasons. That was a different kind of duo.
Houston Rockets
Then, he got traded to the Houston Rockets. This was where he linked back up with James Harden. Two MVPs on one team. I remember folks talking a whole lot about how that was gonna work. It was a pretty short stop for Russ in Houston, though, just that one season if I recall correctly.
Washington Wizards
After Houston, he landed with the Washington Wizards. Another quick stop, just one season there too. But he played alongside Bradley Beal, who was really scoring like crazy at that time. Russ was putting up his usual insane stat lines, doing the triple-double thing.
Los Angeles Lakers
And then came the move to the Los Angeles Lakers. Man, this was the one everyone was watching. Teaming up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. On paper, that sounded like a superteam, right? It didn’t quite pan out the way anyone hoped, I guess. Lots of talk, lots of pressure. He was there for about a season and a half, something like that.
Los Angeles Clippers
Most recently, he crossed the hallway to the Los Angeles Clippers. So, he’s playing with Kawhi Leonard and, yup, Paul George again. Full circle with PG. And then, a bit into his Clippers run, James Harden joined them too! So that’s him, PG, Kawhi, and Harden all on one squad. Crazy.
So yeah, that was my little trip down memory lane, helped by a bit of searching. It’s interesting to just sit down and trace a guy’s path through the league like that. He’s played with a whole bunch of All-Stars and future Hall of Famers. Just thought I’d share how I went about looking it up. Sometimes you just get a thought and run with it, you know?
