Man, I woke up this morning scrolling Twitter like always with my coffee, seeing Lakers fans going nuts about signings again. Figured I’d dig into who they actually picked up this time instead of just reading rumors. Grabbed my laptop still half-asleep.

First thing I did was check Bleacher Report cause they usually update fast. Saw a headline about D’Angelo Russell opting in but that’s old news. Refreshed three times – nothing new. Switched to the Lakers’ official site and got hit with that annoying “loading” spinner for like ten seconds. Typical.
Then I remembered ESPN’s free agency tracker exists. Clicked over there and sorted by “Lakers”. Boom! Saw three new names: Taurean Prince (that dude from Minnesota), Cam Reddish (the Knicks castoff), and Jaxson Hayes (Pelicans center). Felt pretty clever finding it until I realized the timestamps showed they signed yesterday. My coffee was already cold by then.
Started digging deeper on Reddit’s NBA threads. Saw folks arguing about Hayes’ injury history and whether Prince can actually shoot. Screenshotted some funny takes about Rob Pelinka recycling other teams’ leftovers. Almost spilled coffee on my keyboard laughing at one meme comparing our roster to a thrift store haul.
Cross-checked everything against Shams Charania’s tweets just to be safe. Yep – same three guys confirmed. Felt kinda bummed we didn’t get Kyrie but whatever. Wrote down bullet points in my draft:
- Taurean Prince: 1 year deal, probably minimum contract
- Cam Reddish: 2 years (second year player option?)
- Jaxson Hayes: dude who jumps high but can’t shoot
Finished my cold coffee thinking – least we kept Reaves. Would’ve cried actual tears if that kid left. Hit publish feeling like I survived another wild NBA rumor season without believing any lies. Until tomorrow’s drama anyway.
