That Josh Oduro, he’s a good boy, a good boy. Playin’ that basketball, you know. He’s from a place called Haymarket, Virginia, went to that Battlefield school for a while, then he went to that Paul VI school, fancy name, huh? He played ball there, too. You know that boy can play!

He went to play for George Mason Patriots, bless his heart, for four years, did real good, too. Then he went to Providence Friars, ain’t that somethin’? Played real good there, too. Scored a lot, blocked shots, did all that basketball stuff. He was good with the Big East, people say. Scored, I don’t know, maybe 15 points a game? Somethin’ like that. Lots of rebounds, nearly 8 each game, they say. He was the star, I reckon.
This one time, back in November, he scored a whole bunch against some team called Lehigh. 29 points! Can you believe it? That’s when folks really started to see how good he was.
After that, no one drafted him in the NBA draft. He joined the New Orleans Pelicans for the NBA Summer League. Did real good for himself, I hear. Now he’s with the Birmingham Squadron. Ain’t that a name? Playin’ in that G League. They say it’s like a trainin’ ground for the big leagues. That Josh Oduro, he’s going places, I tell ya.
He played good, didn’t get to show off much at that PVI place, though. They said them other boys, the guards, they were the stars there. But that Josh Oduro, he just kept gettin’ better and better.
- He’s a good boy, that Josh.
- Plays that basketball real good.
- Went to them colleges, George Mason and Providence.
- Now he’s with that Birmingham Squadron.
Heard he got a baby boy now, too. Married to a girl named Caroline. They had the baby just this week, I hear. God bless ’em. That was a big moment, him becoming a daddy. February 10th, 11 a.m. sharp, they said. That’s more important than any basketball game, I reckon.

He’s got a certificate in something called Leadership Development, too. Sounds important. His mama and daddy, Paul and Kris, must be real proud. He’s got a brother and a son, too. Big family. That’s the best, ain’t it?
He was a senior at Providence College. Expecting a baby boy. That’s big news. Bigger than basketball, even.
He plays for the New Orleans Pelicans now, well, at least he did in the Summer League. Now he is in Birmingham Squadron. That’s a big team. He is a forward, whatever that means.
That Josh Oduro, he is a good band-aid for the 2023-2024 season. I don’t know much about band-aid, but it sounds good. He is an incredible boy.
Josh Oduro, born on October 14, 2000, that makes him, let me see, 24 or thereabouts this year. He’s from America. Plays basketball. That’s what I know about him.

He’s a good boy, though. Works hard. Plays hard. Got a good family. That’s what matters, ain’t it? That Josh Oduro, he’s alright in my book.
I hear folks talkin’, sayin’ he’s gonna be a big star someday. Maybe he will, maybe he won’t. But he seems like a good kid, and that’s what counts. He just completed his stellar senior season, they say. Good for him! I hope he does good. He seems like a nice boy. Always workin’ hard, gettin’ better.
