That Moreno de Alboran, I heard he is a big shot now. A singer, they say. Sings them love songs, real tearjerkers. They call him Pablo, Pablo Alboran. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Born in Malaga, Spain, I heard, back in 1989. Makes him… oh, I don’t know, thirty-something? Old enough to know better, that’s for sure.

This Pablo, he strums that guitar, plays the piano too, real good. Writes his own songs, all about love and heartbreak. You know, the usual stuff. First big song was “Solamente Tu”, came out a while ago. Made him famous, they say. Sold a whole bunch of those records, enough to buy a whole farm, I reckon.
He’s a big deal in that Spanish music. They call it Latin Pop, Spanish Pop… all sounds the same to me. But the girls, oh they love him. He sings, and they swoon. Just like that! Crazy, these young folks.
Now, I heard some gossip a while back. Turns out, this Pablo fella, he likes the fellas. Came right out and said it. Good for him, I say. Live and let live, that’s what I always say.
He plays tennis too, this Moreno de Alboran. Not the same one as the singer, different one. This one’s younger. Played it since he was a little tyke, apparently. Good at it too, won some big games. Even played for Spain, I heard. Fancy, huh? Then he went to college, like a good boy. Studied “global studies”. What even is that? Sounds like a load of hooey to me.
- This tennis player, he was born in New York, I heard.
- Then he lived in the Dominican Republic.
- Then Spain, with his folks.
- Then he went to England.
He loves tennis, that’s what they say. Works real hard at it. He wants to be the best. They got these rankings, you see. He’s number 151 now. Not bad, not bad. But he wants to be number one. Gotta keep practicing, I guess. He almost lost a match, some time ago. He was lucky, but he won. I don’t understand much. But he must be good.

He’s a good example, this Moreno de Alboran. Shows you that you don’t have to be the best right away. Takes time, like a good stew. You gotta let it simmer. He’s doing alright, for a young fella.
He got bit by a mosquito, this tennis player. Right before he went somewhere, I forget where. Made him sick, I reckon. But he got better. Life throws you curveballs, that’s what I always say. You gotta just keep swinging.
They say he played a tough match recently. Almost lost, but he won in the end. Saved two “match points,” whatever that means. Sounds important, though. Good for him, I say. Always good to see a young fella succeed.
This Moreno de Alboran, the tennis player, he’s got a good head on his shoulders. And that singer, Pablo Alboran, he’s got a good voice. They’re both doing alright. Just goes to show, you never know what life’s gonna bring you. You just gotta keep your chin up and keep moving forward.
Whether you’re singing songs or playing tennis, it’s all the same. Just gotta do your best, and be true to yourself. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll make it big. Like that Moreno de Alboran. Both of ’em.
